The Queen Is After Me

"Don't know if I want to talk about it."

She just let out a deep sigh and took a step closer to him, hesitating briefly so he'd know what she was going to do before sliding her arms around him in a gentle hug.

Keagan very slowly but gently wrapped his arms around her in return.

"It's not your fault, okay?" she whispered, moving her hand up to brush her fingers through his hair. A little surprised he hadn't pulled away. "You never choose it, it's not your fault. You need to stop blaming yourself for what happens, Keagan,"

"Wel, it was kind of my fault this time. Can't deny that."

"What happened, Keag? Please tell me."

"I'd rather forget about it."

"Tell me…" She whispered, moving back from the hug a little bit and running her hand down his chest gently since he seemed to be more willing for contact today.

"I went out, got your chocolate and came back. It went as well as you would expect with me being in public."

"You're so friggin stubborn sometimes," April sighed.

"It's a trait I'm quite proud of actually."

April just sighed softly, making a small movement with her wrist and making water come out of the water bottle on the counter and make little swirling patterns around him. Just trying to lighten the mood and make him smile somehow.

Keagan smiled weakly, compulsively rubbing his shoulder absently before there was the sound of something crashing and falling upstairs.

April jumped at the noise, it causing her to lose focus and for the water to hit the ground. "What was that?" She grumbled quietly before taking a step towards Keagan and moving his hand away from his shoulder gently, "And what's up with you?"

"Just a little sore I suppose." Keagan shrugged just as Fleet skidded into the room and slammed into the doorway with his determination to get into the room.

April grimaced a little bit at Fleet, "Calm down Fleet, you'll end up knocking yourself out. What's wrong?" she asked before glancing to Keagan and whispering, "Put some cream on it? Might soothe it a bit."

"F-Fucking liar," Fleet stammered out, trying to get his feet under him as he stumbled closer. "If that's a sore shoulder I'm an Irish folk dancer, fucking liar."

Keagan was quiet, just watching Fleet.

April frowned deeply at that and just raised an eyebrow at Keagan, "Take your shirt off, let me see what's actually wrong." she told him quietly

Keagan shrugged and tugged his shirt off in a sharp jerky movement. A few inches below and to the side of his shoulder, more towards his chest, was a small hole oozing blood.

April frowned deeply at that and lifted some of the water from the water bottle once again and used it to clean some of the blood away. "What the hell happened, Keag?" She asked quietly, making the water return to the bottle and resting one hand on his cheek, the other on his chest just beside the wound.

"Well, there's this thing called a gun that can cause damage from a distance without having any contact...and someone got a lucky shot off."

April just let out a small sigh, leaning over to look at his back and see if there was an exit wound or if the bullet was still in there.

"It didn't come out," Keagan muttered, shuffling away to get his shirt back on. "Danny can help when he's up for it."

April sighed softly, "Rest till then, huh? Bet it hurts." she mumbled before asking, "You going to be okay?"

"Perfectly fine," Keagan mumbled, glancing briefly over her shoulder at Fleet.
