Cedrick moved to roll onto his back and stretched his neck out, offering his stomach and throat which were covered in bumpy scars, somewhat hidden by his blond fur.

Ria placed the knife down, though kept her hands on it.

Cedrick stayed perfectly still for ten minutes before rolling over again, staying flat to the floor with his ears pinned back and his shoulders hunched in what must have been an uncomfortable position.

Ria just watched him in silence, her hand stiffly on the knife.

Cedrick scooted forward a few inches on his belly, eyes darting to the side of the building where his room was located.

Ria flinched a little at the movement.

Cedrick froze just as suddenly as she'd flinched, looking at her briefly before dropping his eyes, not wanting to make eye contact in case it frightened her further.

"Just shift back? Please?" Ria almost whined.

Cedrick wriggled forward another several inches, just whimpering as he let his ears flop uselessly.

Ria watched him anxiously.

Cedrick stopped his painstakingly slow advance until he was only a metre or so away, keeping himself small and unthreatening.

"Don't." Ria warned, her voice small as she tried to keep it from trembling.

Very slowly, so as to not frighten her, Cedrick rolled back into the submissive pose, throat bared again.

Ria pulled her knees up to her chest to steady herself.

Cedrick stayed that way longer than the time before rolling over and edging forward on his belly again, eyes downcast to continue emitting submissiveness.

Ria got up when he got closer, leaving the knife and heading out to her car, sitting in it and locking herself in.

Cedrick visibly drooped, looking after her with wide, almost sad eyes.

Ria stayed curled up in her car for the remainder of the day.

Cedrick had fallen asleep on the back door step since he couldn't get the door open with paws. By the time Ria would have come out, Cassius was sat next to Cedrick and scratching gently behind his ear.

Roman quietly carried his sister in a while later, placing her in her room before heading her out. "I just caught her mid panic attack in her car, what did he do?!" He demanded when he saw the state Cedrick was in.

"Cedrick shifts when in anxiety. It's what she said or done." Cassius' hand paused in its motions and Cedrick whimpered. "We're leaving in the morning. He bared his heart and soul because of something she said or did and she just put them through a shredder."

"He shifted in front of her!" Roman shouted angrily before sighing. "She can't deal with shifted wolves when she's not one of them. Our brother swiped her when she was younger, and then her ex would shift and pin her within seconds if he was pissed at her. So if he was wanting to bare his heart and soul he could have done it in a less triggering way!"

"How the hell was he supposed to know, huh?! He only shows his wolf to people he trusts because it's more natural for him that way! He can't deal with normal people like your sister can't deal with wolves. He did what his fucked up instincts taught him. Forget the morning. Cedrick, come on, we're leaving. Shouldve known better than to think we could fit in somewhere."

"Have fun not getting pulled over with a fucking wolf in the backseat."

"I've managed it before and can probably do it again. That's no incentive to stay." Cassius led a docile Cedrick inside.
