"I'll go in in a minute, when Dakota seems a little calmer."

Vanessa moved to pin him against the couch.

Dakota just nodded and breathed deeply. After a few minutes, she relaxed ."It's done, for now, I think...hope."

Tatia peeked her head round the door, "Rik, mind if your dad comes in and sits with you while I go tell everyone?"

"Whatever, as long as you're all quiet." Dakota said quietly, resting her head against the pillow and closing her eyes, obviously exhausted.

Dakota leaned towards his hand and breathed quietly, trying to rest as best she could.

After almost a day in labor, Dakota finally delivered a healthy baby girl as predicted. Once washed and weighed and checked over, the baby was passed straight over to Henrik as Dakota was feeding on one of the nurse's, having almost passed out from exhaustion.

"Hello beautiful," Henrik greeted with a smile as he lanced down at his daughter, lowering his head to kiss the top of hers gently and whispering, "We've been so excited to meet you,"

The baby whimpered and cried at being handed over, though soon soothed when she was kissed, opening her brown eyes which she'd gotten from Henrik.

Ellie remained quiet except for a little muffling here and there.

After a few minutes, when Dakota had taken all she could without killing the nurse, she pulled away and turned to face Henrik. "Can I see her?"

Dakota shuffled back so she was leaning into Henrik as she held their daughter, holding her as if she were glass or paper. "She's beautiful," she whispered, tears filling her eyes. "I did it - we did it." she added, leaning up and kissing Henrik on the cheek.

"She's so perfect," Dakota whispered, leaning down and kissing Ellie's forehead gently, before bringing her closer and holding her as tightly as she dared to. "We waited such a long time to meet you baby," she told her, kissing her hands. "And we love you lots."

Dakota nodded at that and shuffled back into Henrik a little more. "You have the best daddy in the world right here, little Ellie." she said quietly, smiling when the baby opened her eyes a little and muffled around.
