This only made him laugh harder as he straightened up to his full height. "You are not my mother so that will not work on me, and even if you were I would not care." Vander replied grinning at her cheekily his attitude from earlier having changed quickly.

She just let out a short laugh and turned her head away to gaze at the floor, seeming rather bewildered by everything and unsure how to respond.

Vander watched her for a split moment before walking across the room and sitting himself in one of the arm chairs. "This is rather ridiculous, all of this, don't you think?"

"Profoundly so," Amalia agreed quietly, "Perhaps we should do a terrible job at it all and they'll let us go home." she suggested.

"I highly doubt that would work but it might be worth the chance, that or run away." He commented putting his head into his hands with sigh.

"If we run we will be caught, then they shall have our heads on sticks. Make an example of us." Amalia sighed, studying him in silence before walking over and perching herself on the arm of his chair. Hesitating before resting her fingertips on his shoulder, in an attempt to be comforting.

"Tis harder to capture one whom can fly." He answered without looking up, flinching slightly at her touch mostly because he wasn't used to being touched.

"But it is still possible," She whispered with a sigh, misreading his flinch as him not wanting her to touch him and simply moving her hand away. "Perhaps we should just play along for a while, and then figure out what to do."

Wrinkling his nose in frustration he sighed slumping back in his chair. "It's just stupid. I mean I can deal with being on a council but forcing a marriage I don't get. If we are not happy and do not like one another then a marriage will not work."

"You do not like me?"

"Should I?"

"That was not what I asked!" She pointed out, voice sharp as she got to her feet and walked away from him silently.

"Awe did I hurt your feelings because I haven't fallen to my knees before you kissing your hand and exclaiming my love for you and your beauty?" He scoffed carelessly adding with a light laugh. "You my dear seriously need to lighten up. One such as myself can not like one such as yourself without knowing her for a meer few minutes."

"You can be willing to be my friend so neither of us are alone in this pathetic scheme that has been set up where we are ripped away from our families and everyone we love." She snapped over her shoulder, spinning around on her heel to face him with narrowed eyes.

"I could but why should I? It is not like you have been going out of your way to befriend me either" he stated calmly not letting her expression bother him in the least.

"I have been. I am speaking to you, am I not? I was the first to speak to you. Go and run away, if that is your attitude, do not say I did not warn you when your head is on a pike."

"Like what I do would be of any concern to you! My disappearance might gain you a more worthy husband anyway!" He growled at her fidgeting about in the chair some.

"I am glad you know your place! You are lucky I even breath the same air as you!"

Vander rolled his eyes at. "I wish you wouldn't cause your high and mighty attitude is making me I'll." getting to his feet he walked past her to one of the smaller bedrooms walking inside.

"And you are most likely giving me some filthy diseases!"

((Either that or they end up friends and remain together for the council and see other people they like...haha awe))

It's making me not want to go to uni because if me and Luke stay together until the summer we're going to end up having a conversation like that soon. Ack </3 Go away the future ))

Vander just laughed at her then not even given her the satisfaction of him answering again.

She let out a sigh and sat herself down on one of the chair, resting her head in the palm of her hands and closing her eyes.

He closed the door of the room he was in behind him. Taking a look at a few things he sat himself on the bed that was there before laying down and closing his eyes, his arms folded under his head.
