Hunters and the Hunted

Sirius and Scareth didn't stop playing, but it was obvious that they were listening.

Jess looked at him. "No I'm not." She told him as she stood up.
_______

She smiled. "Well get used to it, we have no more problems to deal with, so we can spend tie with our boys and later with our daughter, Kai and soon grandchild."

Rosco raised an eyebrow, turning on his side to look at her. "Okay, what do you think has brought this on?"

Aria pursed her lips to try and stop laughing herself, so Lucy wouldn't be upset. She trembled briefly as she held in her laughter, Lucy whining softly but quickly settling and then Aria dropped the book to hide her face, hand holding her own mouth.

Tuesday had closed her eyes, still holding her hand over her mouth as she silently shook with laughter.

"Ah. That's good then." The young boy beamed, smiling brightly at her. "I've been told to lead you to the sitting room."

"Ugh." Ian made a noise of disgust. "Kai."

---

"Girl problems. He doesn't know how to deal with having a girlfriend, like he's some sort of awkward highschooler."

Scareth looked at them. "Okay, what's so funny?"

Sirius looked at them.

Jess nodded and she slid on her shoes, before she waited for him to lead the way.
______

"And you need to behave, Rachel doesn't need anymore stress." Scarlet warned him. "Bearing children is hard enough for hybrids."
______

Rosco couldn't help laughing.
______

Meanwhile, despite it being midday, Rachel was asleep in hers and Kai's bed since she hadn't gotten much sleep the night before because of the baby moving and she was trying to catch up, but she was obviously restless.

"I-Its more of an inside thing," Aria offered softly. "I-I was channelling my mother for Tuesday. They were talking."

"Aelita has the driest sense of humour," Tuesday managed and then snorted, ducking over to hide her face.

"I'm only to lead you to the sitting room. Further instructions are there." The boy swung his arms back and forth as he walked.

---

Ian just groaned, pressing his cheek to the carpet and closing his eyes. "Cain can deal with it."

---

"Exactly! Except, he's throwing it all at me as if I know what to do!" Faye made a muffled noise of frustration.

---

Kai was sat on the porch, texting someone quietly on his phone. There was a mug of cold tea next to him that he'd forgotten.

Scareth rolled his eyes playfully.

Sirius left them to it for a few minutes.

Jess nodded and she followed him.
_______

"No Cain won't deal with it." Scarlet told him. "Cain dealt with it last time."

Rosco laughed, before he kissed her cheek playfully. "Aww, my poor Faye."
_______

Rachel eventually woke up and she sighed, now despite only just waking up, she was wide awake and she sat up on the bed, resting a hand on her stomach as she felt the baby kicking.

"She was a lovely woman," Tuesday sighed, after calming down and Aria's smile slowly faded as she glanced down to Lucy, gently tangling her fingers in her daughter's hair.

"Wish she was here," Aria added quietly. "Not quite the same."

"Are you really the Master's absolutely number one special person? That's what Ezra calls you and he's never wrong." The boy's voice had a touch of awe in it as he asked, finally and timidly glancing up at her face.

"He's more stable than I am around the little prick."

"You wouldn't be laughing if you could hear him ruminating about what colour suits Jessica's skin tone better, navy blue, red, or royal purple."

---

Kai set the phone down and looked out to the trees, almost mechanically closing his fingers around the mug and grimacing at the taste of cold tea.

Jess simply shrugged. "I'm not sure."

Scareth stayed silent.

"Just try this once."
_____

"Royal blue usually." Rosco told her, he shrugged. "You pick up things when you've been her friend for years."

Rachel headed downstairs, but as she got to the stairs, she simply sat on them feeling faint.

"I'm going to trust Ezra," the boy proclaimed, before opening the door to the sitting room and gesturing her in.

Aria combed her fingers through Lucy's hair for a few moments before Lucy started stretching and yawning, waking up from her nap. Aria smiled softly, reaching to gently cup Lucy's cheek, thumb running over her cheekbone. Lucy smushed her face into Aria's palm and yawned again as she blinked her eyes open.

"Is it time to move?" Tuesday asked softly but Aria just shook her head.

"I'm not sure I can. I haven't got a top on it, not that coordinated."

"He got her one of everything. Is it silver or gold, sapphires or rubies, amethysts or rose quartz, does she like this, does she like that, oh, lets bother Faye, she's a girl, she knows girl stuff, I'm not using her for a job but why not make her brain dead by annoying her with all of this shit." Faye crammed the pillow down tighter over her head.

"Do you need help, sweetheart?" Kai called, having heard her move about. Slowly, he stood with a grimace and a stretch.

Jess walked inside and she looked around, obviously never having been in there before.

"Scareth looked at his daughter.

Scarlet sighed. "Do what you think is best."
_________

Rosco laughed. "Rose quartz."
_________

"No, the faint spell with go soon."

There was a woman in there, early twenties, shuffling through something on a desk.

"I brought the lady, Miss Hansen." The boy said cheerfully, waved goodbye to Jess and tottered away.

Miss Hansen, as she was called, abruptly turned and looked Jess up and down thoughtfully.

Lucy smacked her lips together, pressed her mouth briefly to Aria's wrist so she could take, Aria wincing just briefly, and then pressed her hands into Aria's ribs so she could push herself, blinking around the room and mumbling something about being hungry.

"I can try. Cain's always willing to wait behind and see how it goes."

---

"I've had enough of it all." Faye groaned again.

---

"I can help you downstairs regardless." Kai stood at the bottom of the stairs and looked at her, right hand still curled around the mug.

Jess looked around, suddenly finding this quite uncomfortable.

"I know you do." Rosco told her. "But can you ask him a question first?"

Scareth looked at his daughter. "Come here Lucy."
______

Scarlet nodded.
______

Rachel shook her ehad. "You're busy." She told him, having seen him on his phone and thought that he was still busy. "Anyway this place is comfy."

"Don't panic, love. I'm Herrit Hansen." She gestured to a changing screen that hid the other half of the room. "There's something around the corner for you, if you'd like to take a look? They were commissioned. I was given your approximate sizes but...but we can tweak them if they aren't right." And then, despite her stern face, she smiled shyly.

"Oh god, really? More contact with him? Go ahead. Question away. See if he answers."

Lucy scrambled about, briefly elbowing Aria in the diaphragm before she stumbled to her feet and walked over, yawning into her hand again.

Slowly, Aria sat up, slightly winded. Lucy was starting to get a little stronger.

"I'll tell you before the switch happens if - when - it happens."

---

"I think I know my schedule better than you do, sweetheart." Kai set the mug down on the hallway table. "I know whether or not I'm busy."

Jess didn't move, in truth she hadn't fed since se got up, so she was torn between feeding and making a run for it, though she did favour running most of all.

"Why has he left Jess on her own in her room with no other exist but a door and a woman that she doesn't know? Because either Jess will have a mental breakdown or the woman's going to die." Rosco told her.
_________

Scareth held his arm out for her since she'd been feeding off him a lot.
_________

"Sorry." She shrugged, looking down.
_________

Scarlet nodded. "Okay."

"Please? It'll make sense soon." The woman pressed her hands together in a begging gesture. "I can move the screen and show you first?"

Faye's eyelids fluttered. "He's setting stuff up. He's being extremely vague."

Lucy misinterpreted it and stumbled into his arms, doing her best to clamber onto his lap without elbowing or kneeing anything. As it was, she accidentally hit a few of the piano keys and froze at the noise.

"No, no, that wasn't me telling you off or anything. That's me telling you I'm not too busy to look at my favourite lady."

---

Ian huffed a sigh, rolling onto his back and staring at the ceiling.

Jess eventually just nodded, though her breathing had spiked.

"Well then that woman is dead."
_______

"It's okay." Scareth held her onto his lap. "Come on, take from me."
_______

She looked at him and she silently held her arms out to him just for a hug, in truth Rachel looked absolutely exhausted and she just needed a hug.
_______

"You knwo you could climb up here and join me and your boys."

Herrit moved slowly and pulled the changing screen across. On the other side of the room, hanging on separate racks, were about twenty dresses, all of different styles and colours. There was a dressing table in the only free colour, with boxes upon boxes of jewellery and makeup.

"I was under the impression you knew," Herrit began slowly, "that our Master is in the process of courtship. He wants you to pick your favourite. The rest will remain yours, but he wishes you to pick one to wear now, for the occasion."

"Death replaces most staff on a weekly basis. If she dies, she dies. His fault for being so fucking vague."

Lucy blinked up at him, still waking up, then smiled widely. She had a little gap from where she'd recently lost a tooth and then she wrapped her little hands around his wrist to bring it up to her mouth.

Kai made his way up the stairs, squished himself gently and carefully next to her and the wrapped his arms around her.

"It'll be too warm with that many bodies on the bed."

Rachel snuggled into him. "I'm sorry if this is awkward."

He gave her his wrist.
_______

Rosco shrugged. "Okay but it not dealing with Jess as she has a break down."

Jess looked at the dresses and she ever so slowly walked forward towards them, gently running a hand over each one.

"I'm not a heat lover," Ian muttered. "Not stifling heat. Summer is too lethargic."

"Its not awkward at all." Kai kissed her head gently.

Lucy briefly smushed her face into his palm like she'd done for Aria, then twisted her head to press her mouth to the side of his wrist, humming happily and kicking her legs from her position on his lap.

"Death," Faye said slowly. "Is a dick." She winced almost immediately afterwards, as if reprimanded, but vindictively muttered, "Its true."

---

"I'm moving the screen back now," Herrit said, purposefully loud and projecting her movements. "So you can try one on, if you so wish." She slowly moved to hold onto the screen.

((I've only literally just started RP again, so very little. Life is meh. Exams and shit. Four this week coming, three the next week over))
