"I wouldn't hurt you like that. I'm not going to push you and when you're ready then that's fine." She mumbled not looking up.

He nodded. "It will take time, are you willing to wait that long?" He asked her.

"I'm not leaving you. I'll wait....however long it takes I'll wait."

He smiled slightly, before Angel suddenly burst into the room. "Christian, daddy and mummy are back!"

She smiled and nodded at Angel. "Alright Angel."

"We had best go and show our faces." He told her. "You know what my mother is like."

She nodded moving over so he could get up first.

He got up and waited for her.

She got up and took his hand.

He held her hand, heading downstairs with her when they found the whole family congregated in the living room.

She smiled softly sticking close to him anyhow.

"Mother, father, can I speak to you both?" Christian asked.

Elijah looked at him from where he stood at the fireplace and he nodded. "With or without the rest of the family?"

"Without preferably, unless my Aunt and Uncle can offer advice?"

Marie nodded. "Of course."

Laura smiled. "That would depend on the situation nephew but we can try to help if you like."

Michelle was quiet.

Christian looked at Michelle. "You can stay if you want." He told her before he looked at his family and explained his and Michelle's situation about why they argued and then asked that one question Elijah and Caleb had asked their own lovers a million times: How can he be with her without being a monster?

Elijah and Caleb looked at each other then at Christian and then back at each other.

Michelle couldn't believe that he was doing this and was instantly embarrassed but she said nothing only looking at her feet.

Both Marie and Laura smiled softly looking at the men in their lives. "Go on boys, tell him."

"Well considering we live with our choices to marry the pair of you, we can honestly say it wasn't easy." Elijah told them playfully before he looked at his son. "But I'll tell you, it's not nice not easy, especially if things go the way you both want." He told them.

"Admittedly it was harder for your father, for obvious reasons." Caleb told him. "But there are ways around it."

"Hey now, you think it was easy on either of us being humans back then?" Marie teased.

Laura leaned against Caleb letting them talk

"You took it well." Elijah reminded her before he looked back at Christian. "The only advice I can give you is use the more human side, we did and we've been married for about two thousand years."

"We were also turned which helped. Remember that. I don't think it's possible to turn a shifter."

He shrugged. "As far as we know no one has ever tried."

"Can we speak with someone...there should be someone that knows..." came a tiny whisper from Michelle her hand squeezing Christians as she looked up at him.

"Caleb and I will start asking around the coverns, someone should know something." Elijah told her. "But immortality is a big ask Michelle, if it is possible, you need to decide whether you want to be around forever."

"It's worth knowing..." she whispered leaning against Christian.

Christian nodded, kissing the top of her head.

She looked up at him and smiled.

Marie was watching them quietly.
