"The offer to come on tour with me has always been open to you and Ruby too." Henrik sighed. "I can't win,"

"No. It's never been open. We were never asked but you practically begged Ellie to go with you. She was always your fucking little musical prodigy that you preferred over us. Always has been, always will be. Leave me alone dad, don't act like you care." Sapphire mumbled, walking out.

"We called to arrange a date, not to talk about vampires."

"Sapphire!"

"It's going to be a date?"

"I meant date as in date on the calendar..."

"Don't Sapphire me, Henrik!"

"Don't call me Henrik!"

"I- right... sorry." Ruby grimaced.

"Would you like it to be a date?"

"Start acting like my dad then! Because you never have!"

"I... Won't pressure you into making a date... A date would be nice though."

"I'm trying and you won't meet me half way!"

"Because you know jack shit about me and you're trying to smother me! I'm not a child! I've been dumped by someone I like! I don't need to fucking move back home for it!"

"A date it is then..."

"Okay... if it's what you want too." Ruby whispered quietly.

"Whatever Sapphire, I give up. Your too unreasonable, too much like your mother." Henrik muttered, getting to his feet and heading into the kitchen quietly.

"Is that why you keep abandoning me? You're a coward dad. You always have been. A coward. You left your teenage daughter to raise me and Ruby because you were too much of a coward to do it yourself when mum died. Too much of a coward to fight for her when she left. Too much of a coward to face your own daughter. You're weak. Both you and mum are. Cowards. I wish I had different parents. Maybe then I wouldn't have people whispering and judging me in my ear because I'm part of the psychopathic family." Sapphire muttered, getting up and walking out.

"I don't see why not."

"Okay, uh... What will we be doing? So I know what to wear." She whispered, "Nothing fancy, don't like fancy..."

Sapphire got in her car and started speeding down the highway, almost twice the legal speed limit.

"We can just get food?"

"That's expensive.. picnic is cheaper, we could feed ducks?"

After a few miles, police lights began to flash as the car followed hers.

"It's freezing out."

"Fuck." Sapphire sighed deeply, moving to pull over.

"It's not that bad.. what about an inside picnic? You can come to my rubbish little apartment, with sandwiches. We can watch a film?"

The car pulled up behind her, Anthony stepping out and walking around to her side of the car. "Step outside of the vehicle."

"Just give me a ticket since I can't compel you away." Sapphire mumbled miserably, trying to steady her voice.

"If you want."

"Do you even know how fast you were going?"

"It's up to you too... I'm just, thinking of ways we can both save some money but still have a nice night."

"Just give me a ticket Tony!" Sapphire cried then, covering her mouth with her hand to stifle a sob.

"I'm fine with that."

"You were going fast enough, where one slips could of caused a major accident. The last major crash I dealt with, where four cars piled up, two drivers died and three children from various cars was caused by someone driving your speed, in weather conditions like this. They blinked, and the entire road situation had changed, due to the speed they didn't have enough time to react. Do you want to be responsible for something like that?"

"When will you be over?"

Sapphire said nothing, moving to rest her head on the steering wheel.

"When do you want me to be?"

"You can choose." She laughed, "You just tell me a time you'll be here, I don't have any plans for the day so any time should e okay."

"Sapphire. Are you even listening to me?"

"I get it! I'm an awful terrible person! I've just been told that by my father! I get it! I fucking suck! Give me a ticket or arrest me! Just get it over and done with!"

"We're going it today?"

"If you want to, sounds like you've dealt with stupid people today... could be a nice escape?"

"Get out of the car."

"I suppose."

Sapphire just got out and stared at the ground, trembling.
