"Great... I'm Ruby, by the way. Ruby Mikaelson."

"Nice to meet you... how do you like your coffee?" She whispered, placing her bag down where she had been sat earlier, "I'll go in and get it."

Ruby nodded and headed into the cafe then, sitting herself down opposite him a few moments later and pushing his coffee over to him. "Is the place you're scraping money together for worth the struggle?"

"Thanks... Is the stale orange juice smell too noticeable? It irritates me, it was one of those work shift that involved sitting and watching for hours with no foreseeable finish to the shift, so I needed vitamin C."

"It's probably only really noticeable to you because you're aware of it. Relax, get the car valeted."

"Roomate got arrested six months ago so it's just me paying for the place now, I was fine before when he came up with half the rent."

"I live in this shitty one bedroom apartment, that the landlord passed up as two bed because the main room has one of those sofas that you can fold down into a bed. The upstairs neighbours scream abuse at each other at least twice a week, the wall paper is peeling off and the shower messes up sometimes but I work hard for it and it's better than having to choose between which parent I'd rather live with." She hummed, taking a sip of her own drink. "What did your roomate get arrested for?"

"Yeah..." Anthony whispered.

"You okay? You seem... preoccupied?"

"No idea, haven't seen or spoke to him, the police busted in when we were playing a video game, arrested him, and he's denied my requests to go see him."

"You weren't very close then? I've never seen anyone get arrested before..."

"I hate the smell of stale orange juice," Anthony grumbled, moving his hand from the wheel to undo the window. "That's all... Any interesting customers today? The woman that carries that owl on her arm come in again?"

"Why are you so annoyed? It's just juice."

"What about the guy who thinks his fishing adventures ten years ago are still the most interesting things in the world, was he bothering you with pointless stories today?" He asked, completely ignoring her comment.

"It's just something I have to pay the bills, the manager isn't the best of people." Ruby whispered.

"How am I taking anything out on you? I'm asking you about your day and telling you I don't like how my car smells right now, there is nothing negative directed at you there."

Anthony rolled his eyes, pulling over when they got to hers and getting out of the car.

Anthony locked the car, waiting for her to head into her home first.

Sapphire unlocked her door and walked in, taking off her coat and shoes.

"Just tired of the same morons day after day that can't open a word document without someone holding their hand."

"There goes my game plan to get you to my little apartment." She joked, "I'm okay with tech, I wouldn't really know how to make a pie chart on excel but I can do powerpoints with the transitions and I know how to get onto social media and watch live stream television so I get by."

Anthony followed her inside, lifting his hand up to cover a yawn.
