"Why haven't you told me before?"

"Because what good would it do?" He asked her. "You're young and free, I'm old and trapped in never ending night, you shouldn't have to be tied down to someone like that."

"Tied down? Is that how you think I'd feel?"

"If things got further like our siblings then yes."

"Do any of them look like they feel tied down to you? They look happy Marcus... I've never seen my sister look so happy...."

"Your sister isn't mortal, you are."

"Not anymore. And then again not really she was a Shifter like I am."

"Compared to vampires princess, you're mortal." He reminded her. "And I'm ancient compared to you little dove, would you really want to be on the arm of an old man?"

"If I say yes, will that change anything?"

"If you were serious I'm not sure."

"And if I'm completely serious than what? I know you're not used to me being human for more than a little while or talking very much if at all but you know I don't lie to you and I've always trusted you completely. You're family."

"This isn't about being family." He told her. "I don't expect you to lie to me, I expect you to think about this, this is more than being family."

She sighed falling quiet instead and just curling up at side.

"Little dove, I'm in love with you,but you need to think of what can happen."

"I'm well aware of what can happen. I've seen what can happen."

"I know."

"Then what is the worry? You act as if I don't know what I'm getting myself into... like I don't know what to expect. I've seen it all, Marcus. Heard it all. You nearly died and I had to watch... I stood by and watched on your orders because I know you wouldn't have been happy with if I helped yesterday. I don't want to be where you're not..." she whispered quietly looking at him and for the first time since the day they had met there was tears in her eyes.

He looked at her and he wiped her tears. "If you're sure that this is what you want then so do i."

She rolled over to slid her arms around him carefully allowing herself to fully hug him.

He slid his arms around her.

She curled up close. "You should rest. I'll stay right here while you do."

"You should go and eat I'll be alright."

"Only if you promise me that you'll be asleep when I get back," she whispered looking at him seriously.

"Promise."
