Reuniting Tornedalians

"Well I'm originally from Maine." She told him. "A lot of people there kept getting killed by some animal, my sister thought it would be fun to try and find it... We went out one night on the search, it found us... I tried hard to protect her but I was too late it got her first... I know what it's like to want to protect someone as bad as you want to protect your brother, I just failed in my task. "

"I'm sorry. They're evil things... Pests."

"Yeah...You've got that right." She sighed, wiping away tears, it may have been years ago and the truth might have been her fault not her sister's, but it still upset her. "Sorry, I should probably go to work." She wiped her tears furiously.

"Mm, ok. I"'m going to go to bed."

"Yeah you should, I was thinking of getting pizza tonight if you want to join in." She offered as she picked her coat and bag up putting both of them on.

"Yeah, yeah sure."

"Great, see you tonight." She told him and she left the apartment, walking down the stairs into the vet surgery below and she got ready to head out.

"Well it is right now," she smiled cupping his cheek.

Christopher headed to bed.

When she came back home after work, she was carrying boxes of their favourite pizzas.

He smiled softly.

"Pizza!" Isaac yelled excitedly with a grin, meeting her at the door.

She smiled. "Hey little guy." She smiled setting the boxes on the table as she took off her coat and bag, loosening her braid.

"What pizza's did you get? What did you do today?"

"Your favourite." She nodded to the top pizza which was his. "Just boring adult vet stuff, what did you do?"

"Park, then forest walk. Spotted that police officer watching me a couple of times."

"Want me to tell him off?"

Isaac nodded. "I don't like being watched."

"Don't worry I'll make sure that he doesn't come after you again." She promised.

Isaac nodded subtly, sitting himself down with his pizza.

Jeni went to knock on the other bedroom door to let him know that pizza was here.

"Come in," Christopher called, voice sleepy though he wasnt in bed. Sat at a desk in the room, flipping through a book.

"Hey, it's just me." She told him. "Just letting you know that pizza's here if you want to join us." She told him.

"Yeah, I'll be out now."

She nodded and she went back to eating her pizza, sitting in front of the television like they normally did.

Christopher soon came out to join her.
