Reuniting Tornedalians

Peyton passed him the tweezers back and offered him her arm, using her now free hand to squeeze his shoulder gently and lean her head forward to bury her face against the crook of his neck.

"All of thst can be spoken about later, once we've made sure that people are okay." Max whispered.

Noah flinched away from her when her hand came near his head, mumbling quietly; "No, hurts."

Harrison sighed, "We need to get you to the den, get some bloodbags down you."

He started taking out splinters.

She nodded.

Abi looked to them. "Stay close."

"Babe, we need to fix it, I'm nearly done."

She nodded.

Peyton inhaled sharply, veins beneath her eyes becoming more prominent as a instinctual response to the pain.

Max nodded subtly. "Got it."

Noah was silent then, too exhausted to protest anymore than that.

Harrison moved an arm beneath her legs, keeping her sat up right with his other arm and lifting her up off of the floor. Walking towards their den.

She settled into him. "Where's Abi?" She whispered.

Alyssa and Abi walked around the pack checking on everything.

She finished it as quickly as she could.

He eventually finished and he looked to her kissing her hand. "All done."

"We need to find Aly," Noah whispered. "Make sure that she is okay. She's more important than me."

"I haven't seen her yet," Harrison replied honestly; "You've been the first one that I have found, we'll get you healed up and then we'll find out."

Peyton nodded subtly, lookong over him then to check his bruises. Frowning at a particularly bad one that peaked out from beneath his shirt, restng her palm over it gently.

"Abi has her, she's okay, you're the important one right now."

She nodded. "If she's anything like you, she'll be okay." She told him, to try and ease their worry.

Soon they came across Faun and Harrison and Abi stopped at seeing the blood. Dripping behind them. "Mom?"

Alyssa watched Abi run afyer her parents before she looked to him. "You need to be with your sister."

He watched her.

Harrison sighed in relief when she heard Abi's voice, placing Faun down on the bed and brushing her hair back off of her face. "She'll be okay Abi, just do me a favourg; go into the fridge and bring out all the bloodbags, okay?"

Max nodded subtly in agreement to that, though looked her over first. "You're okay, yeah?"

"I - I understand how Max could let it happen, how he could of been a part of this.. They raised him, after all, his loyalty will always be with them but I thought Chris was our friend - he interacts with them all; he could of stopped this."

"M'okay, just a bad head. Really... Don't worry."

"That's what I don't get." He told her. "Max and Chris weren't here, surely if they were in on it then they would be."

Alyssa nodded. "Just bruised."

Faun smiled softly hearing her daughter and she watched her run off and come back arms laiden with blood bags.

"Let's get you home." She suggested.

"They wouldn't be if they couldn't face what they had done, or if the others were worried thry wouldnt go through with it. Just because they weren't here doesnt mean they hadnt plaued a part in it."

"Okay," Max whispered. "We'll uh, we'll talk later." he promised before jogging after Abi and heading into Faun's den.

"Well done, good girl." Harrison praised Abi, opening spme of the bags up for Faun and helping her to drink them.

He nodded, using a low hanging branch of the tree to pull himself to his feet.

"It's not up to us what happens next anyway."

Alyssa nodded and she went looking for her parents.

Rebekah helped him to his feet.

. Abi smiled softly and she watched Faun accept his help and drink slowly. "What do we do?" She asked as she heard Max come in.

"What happens next? What do you thonk will happen next?" Peyton asked quietly.

"We do nothing until your mother is better, your uncle on the other hand who has the audacity to just walk in here after what he has done.." Harrison growled, not even looking at Max, "Needs to take this as an oppurtunity to run while he still can."

Max just rolled his eyes, not intimidated. Making his way around to Faun's bedside and humming softly; "Hi."

Noah finally glanced around at the scene around him, exhaling in relief when he saw Alyssa approaching them.

He shrugged.

"Faun looked to Harrison and she rested her hand on his as she looked to her brother." Where were you? "

Abi watched them.

The minute she saw her parents she ran to them and she helped Rebekah get Noah home.

"If the pack want Max dead... Or the hunters do. If both sides want him dead, we aren't going to be able to just leave him Koby." Peyton whispered.

"They chained me up, chains weren't impossible to get out of just impossible to get out of in time." Max answered quietly.

"This is all a lot of fuss to be making, I'm okay girls; really I am."

"It's Faun and Harrisons choice."

Faun looked to him. "And Chris?" She asked. "You two are meant to have our back, and neither rof you warned us."

"Hey your my dad now I'm. Taking care of you."

"I was chained up, they drugged Chris and dragged him into a different room to me, I don't know if he's even alive; first thing I done when I got free was run here." Max whispered.

"All of the infomation they have gotten has clearly come from you. As much as I dislike that hunter, he has always known our details - you, on the other hand, show up and within a short space of time we are caught unaware."

"The pack can kill me too then, if that happens." Peyton mumbled. "It's my fault anyway, all of this, for being stupid enough the day he was born. He doesn't get to suffer the consequences for my stupidity alone."

"You shouldn't take care of me exactly because of that reason."

"What if there's a mile?" Abi asked them.

Faun looked to her daughter. "What do you MEAN Abi?"

"Faun can't let them touch him then either," Peyton whispered. "Family needs to come before pack rules sometimes, Koby. You can pretend like you'd do whatever they say but if you were forced to watch wolves rip him a part you would try and stop it. You fell head over heels for him that day he showed up here."

"Mile?" Max frowned.

"I'm not saying I wouldn't, but if he is found to have betrayed us I wouldn't have a choice."

Alyssa rolled her eyes. "You're as young as the day I was born."

"No, no we keep an eye on everyone. Who would do that and manage to do it beneath all of our noses?" Harrison asked with a frown.

"There are always people who come and go to the base, its possible." Max whispered.

"You would, I would. We would." Peyton whispered, "We could try to protect him. There is always a choice, Koby... I know for a fact I would try, if they decide that is his fate that boy will not die thinking we didn't fight for him."

Rebekah smiled softly.

"No, I'm talking to you." Peyton answered, resting her palm against his cheek. "I know you, my love and you preach about following pack rules constantly but they don't define your life; they never have. We went away for months when we had to, you fought your instincts to do that. You are with me, that was never allowed when we met. I know you, your saying now that you wouldn't have a choice but you would, you'd try and keep him safe. Even if every instinct your wolf had told you not to."

"You best come up with something boy or else we aren't stopping your slaughter." Harrison warned.

This seemed to genuinely scare Max, and he took a couple of steps away from them. His gaze going to his big sister for reassurance that it wouldn't happen.

"I'm not denying that, but like I said it's faun and Harrisons choice."

Faun looked to her brother. "We can give you time, but Max you really need to think, when I'm healed ill help you as much as I can but Harrison can only keep you safe for so long."

The door handle to Jeni and Christopher's front door would of fidgetted as Chris would of struggled to open the door. Drowsy and struggling to support his own weight from sedatives, he also now hosted a black eye and multiple deep gashes across his arms, chest and face.

"Your both in charge of them all! Don't act like you wouldn't have a choice in this, you are in control of them all."

"People died, they'll want revenge. We'd have a mutiny if we didn't allow it." Harrison answered. "We are being perfectly reasonable here. Multiple of the hunters attacked informed us that this was of your doing."

"But.. But it wasn't - I didn't..." He stumbled over words, heartbroken as it all finally sunk in that his whole life had been leading up to ultimately getting betrayed by the hunters.

"You have been denying that," Peyton whispered, getting to her feet and heading toward Faun's den.

Jeni was at home waiting, she was pacing with anxiety, he was due home hours ago and Faun had texted her about the raid.

"Stop fighting." Faun told them. "We have had enough of that today, Max you really need to think, if you have any idea of who it could be then you need to tell us."

Koby followed. "I'm. Tired, give me a break."

Christopher swore quietly under his breath, giving up with trying to open the door and instead calling from outside in almost a whisper; knowing she would hear anyway; "Jeni..."

"I'm not fighting, my family have thrown me to the wolves and your saying those wolves who are always meant to be my family are going to kill me!? I'm scared! I havent done anything, I never wanted any of this! If I knew who a damn mole was I would say!" He gulped, lifting his eyeline up when Peyton and Koby walked in. Staring at them, trembling.
