"He is probably still working with the hunters - this is all an elaborate ploy to kill us. We should aim to kill him as well as the vamps."

he smiled back.

"Shaky," Max answered with a shrug. "I'm not enough for her these days unless I am making these huge proclamations of love."

"And are you sure that thay is what she wants?" He asked.

"How am I meant to know? Honestly I don't care. It was Chris' birthday this week and she was a cow, picking fights with me and trying to convince me it was a good idea to invite a stranger into the pack then claiming she wasn't arguing with me when she was."

"Okay then easier question when was the last time you told Aly how you felt about her?" He asked.

"I don't know, I don't care right now." Max answered sharply. "I get excited about her stupid art work and tell her I'll bring her to a gallery, clearly even that isn't enough. She'll end up leaving or dying like everyone else so whats the point?"

Peyton frowned.

"She will leave if this is the attitude." He told him. "Thankfully werewolves are immortal unless hunters get to them so you don't have to worry about that. But seriously, have you ever thought that she just wants you to tell her that you love her? Maybe bring her flowers, you know small things?"

"Oh shut up, I told you I don't care so leave it! Who the hell are you to lecture me anyway? Leave me alone." Max muttered, getting to his feet and heading up the stairs to the spare room.

Peyton grimaced.

"I think this is how the full moon affects him."

"Yeah," Peyton agreed quietly, "I uh, I'm going to talk to him for a while. Are you okay to clean up?"

"Yeah no problem." He told her.

"You're a star," Peyton whispered, kissing his cheek with a gentle, "Love you," before heading to the spare room after Max.

Afterwards, Max was in the spare room - having been taken entirely by surprise.
