Delaney was out going for a walk along the stream taking in the gentle early morning breeze that rose from the water, hoping to gather up some more inspiration for her newest novel.

"Well hello there," Came a low growl from the shadows of the trees that ran along the other side of the stream, the voice sounding almost like static from a radio - the only thing visible from said shadows being a pair of lightning coloured eyes that would occasionally flash red.

Laney paused in her tracks, the voice not so much startling her as the eyes did when she spotted them in the shadows, a chill instantly running through her.

The creature giggled manically, stepping out of the shadows and skipping across the stream - appearing as a boy of only about seven, with sandy blonde hair and an almost cute appearance - though the air it gave off was unsettling. "I can't find my friend, do you think you can help me?"

She raised an eyebrow at the boy almost in confusion, having actually thought he was someone else from years earlier. "You're friend, hm? Well... can you tell me about them?"

The boy smirked when he spotted her confused expression, that being his exact intention. Though he simply gave a relaxed shrug in response to the question. "Older than me."

The child's smirk raised some alarms in her head, not used to seeing a small child act this way. "Well that isn't very helpful. Can you tell me their name? Or what they look like?"
