The Secrets of Llawnech

"Mm, yeah.. yeah go ahead." She whispered, already half asleep.

He nodded and he picked up his book from the table, beginning to read.

Rose was soon fast asleep.

He read until he got tired and he headed to sleep, waking up in the morning to the sounds of the birds.

Rose was still sleeping, the day before having completely exhausted her with all of the ups and downs that had been involved in it.

Marcus brought her some breakfast in bed.

Rose moaned quietly when she was stirred.

"Hey sweetheart, I've got you some breakfast."

"You- You do. Thank you.."

He nodded and he wheeled over with the tray on his lap.

Rose slowly sat herself up

When she was comfortble, he rested the try on her lap.

"Thank you..."

He nodded, moving round t his side of the bed.

She ate quietly.

He sat on his side of the bed drinking a coffee.

"Do you want some of this?"

"No thank you," He told her. "We need to have a serious talk about all of this you know....Do you feel up to doing that right now?"

"I've said all I need to say, Marcus,"' She whispered.

"You've not told me what happened." He told her. "And if you don't want to talk about it, it's fine, but your father and brother leave today so it will be just us and Alicia....Surely that's not that bad right?"

"Yeah it is, they show up and then they leave and then they show up and then they leave and it hurts. Always hurts. I want us to be somewhere they won't be able to do this again."

He nodded. "I understand, I hate seeing my brother when he visits for diplomacy." He told her. "But what makes it better is you and Alicia."

"They show up, they make me feel.. weak. Like I am barely capable of breathing or walking yet alone helping them. I feel like nothing around them more and more, and I never felt like that when my mum was... she was always in my corner pointing out things that made me strong, capable."

"You are strong and very capable, you're so smart and crafty....Maybe your brother wants to protect you and our baby?" He suggested. "But he might have going about it the wrong way." He suggested.

"I want us to leave, Marcus." She whispered. "I've been wanting this for months now."
