"Leave me alone." Tesni mumbled shakily in English, "Just... throw him outside of a hospital or something." Glancing up as she focused on Ezra's cries once again, shaking her head and heading up the stairs to him.

"For telling our father his behaviour is effecting me I am a self-righteous dick? Shut the hell up." Sebastian muttered. "Go away. I have things to do, I am recoding later."

"How am I meant to know?" Scarlett sighed. "I get to be worried about you though."

“What do you want me to say to that Scarlett? Just don’t worry about me.”

“Tesni you can’t just have a screaming match with your best friend, knock him out and then tell me to leave you alone!”

“No. For taking shit on when nobody asked him and expecting a heap of praise for it.” Katrina sighed before leaving the room.

"I do deserve praise, its called being grateful." Sebastian hissed after her.

Tesni closed the nursery door behind herself and picked Ezra up, holding him close against her chest which moved with silent sobs.

"Nothing. I don't want you to say anything, I just want you to know. So you know I care." Scarlett sighed. "Please don't get angry at me."

“I’m not angry… just don’t know what you want me to do.”

“I’m calling your mom!” Tobias sighed deeply as he dragged Henry up off the floor and over his shoulder before heading out.

“Mama?” Elle yawned from her bed on the other side of the room

Tesni sniffled, glancing up and forcing a smile the best she could; "Hey Elle, go back to sleep. I'm just settling Ez." She assured, voice thick.

"Rest, even if you don't sleep. I just want you to rest."

“How can I rest when all I can think of is my father being tortured? You’ve seen what they’ve done to my uncle Caius. The state of his face, the scars on his body. They’ll be doing that to my father…”

“No… you sad?”

"Your dad is strong, and people bounce back quicker than you think. Your dad will be found soon, he won't be wherever he is much long." Scarlett whispered, kissing the top of his head. "You have to have hope."

Tesni shook her head, moving to hold Ezra in one arm before making her way over to Elle's bed. Sitting herself down beside her and wrapping her free arm around her, "Everyone gets a little sad sometimes, it's okay."

“No… mama shouldn’t be sad.” Elle frowned as she curled into her.

“And what if he’s not?” Archer whispered, voice cracking.

---

“Hey, here.” Odette headed into the living room and passed Dorian his phone which was ringing with a call from Tobias.

"Everyone gets sad sometimes, it's normal. It's good, we should always be able to express when we are sad." Tesni whispered, leaning down to kiss the top of her head.

"What if he is not? Good question... what do you think the answer to that question is? What's... worse case to you and how would you deal with it?"

Dorian frowned, taking his phone off of her and answering, "Tobias? Hey, I thought you were off today. Everything OK?"

“I’ve just dropped Henry off at the hospital so he’ll probably need a ride home once they’ve checked him over. He and Tesni got into a fight and it got … physical.”

“Don’t be sad forever mama.”

---

“That we don’t find him… even finding him dead would be better than not finding him - the not knowing.”

"I've only just got back from the hospital like an hour ago." He groaned. "What was the fight about? I didn't even know Henry was in the country."

"No, no. Not forever, just for now. Not forever, I promise."

---

Scarlett nodded subtly in understanding, kissing the side of her head gently. "I get that. Scary thought."

“They were arguing in French - on purpose I imagine since I can’t speak it. Tesni had done something to upset him by the way he was speaking, I warned him not to but he kept going on.”

Odette looked over when she heard her brothers name, though pretended to not be paying attention.

“Tes?” Karsi called as she entered the house a few moments later. “Tes? Tobi called and said you needed me?”

“Is that grandma?!”

“I’d rather know, I’d rather have closure.”

"I- okay. Thanks, I'll head over there now and pick him up, didn't get too hurt did he? I couldn't see Tesni managing to do too much damage."

"I don't think you are going to be able to rest until you accept the fact that... maybe you won't." Scarlett whispered sadly. "It happens, to lots of people."

"It is, why don't you go and say hi to her while I settle Ez." Tesni whispered.

“She threw a ceramic bowl at him. He was conscious when I dropped him off they were just checking for concussion.”

“They kept Caius for over a decade… I can’t imagine that for my dad.”

---

Elle nodded, slipping off the bed and heading downstairs to see Karsi.

"Okay, OK. Thanks for letting me know." Dorian whispered, hanging up and looking over at Odette, "Henry is in town, he had a fight with Tesni - a physical one, we have to go and get him from the hospital."

Tesni watched her go quietly before pulling her knees up and shuffling back on the small bed until her back was against the wall. Brushing her thumb over the tufts of Ezra's hair.

Scarlett nodded in agreement, resting her chin on top of his head and pulling him close against her. "I'm here for you, I know it's not much but... you don't have to deal with whatever your feeling alone if you don't want to."

“She’s hurt him enough to put him at the hospital?”

Karsi came up after a few minutes, carrying Elle in her arms as she gently nudged the door open with her foot. “Hey you.”

“I know… I know.” Archer kissed the top of her head. “Love you.”

"Ceramic bowl to his head, she launched it. He said they were fighting in French so he doesn't know what about. Henry is awake now, they're just checking him over for a concussion."

"He shouldn't of called you, I told him I wanted to be left alone." Tesni whispered. "You can look after the kids though, if you insist on being here. I'll jump in the shower or something."

"First time you've said that," Scarlett mused softly. "I love you too."

“You want to tell me what happened? There’s a broken ornament downstairs…”

“I know.” Archer laughed softly.

“Stupid bitch.” Odette muttered angrily.

"No. I want to be left alone, like I told my husband." Tesni answered calmly. "I'd appreciate it if you respected that."

"Lets go get him, hm? While the kids are still out."

"Do you mean it? Because, if your just feeling sad right now then it's okay."

“He’s got enough money to get himself a cab back from the hospital to the hotel.”

“I’ll watch the kids whilst you shower then.”

“I think I mean it.”

"Your concerned about him, come on, just jump in the car with me Odi. It's time to forgive."

"Thank you." Tesni mumbled, passing her Ezra before leaving the room and locking herself in the bathroom instead.

"OK, I - good."

(( As for how Maddox comes back, it'd be typical Maddox style to literally just walk in with a few cuts and bruises or whatever. He could not even know what has happened, like if Cal and Al never found him? Unless you had a different idea? ))

“No, no it’s not. You go get him if you’re so concerned.”

Karsi settled the kids again before waiting downstairs.

Archer brushed his fingers through her hair.

"I am going to." Dorian frowned. "I'm just wanting to know if you are going to come with me or not."

Tesni wandered down in pajamas, towel wrapped around her head to keep her hair from dripping, about an hour later. Heading straight into the kitchen to make herself a hot drink.

Scarlett tucked her head beneath his chin and closed her eyes.

“You gonna talk to me?” Karsi asked from the kitchen, plating up the food that had been ordered and delivered a few minutes ago.

“No. I’m not.”

"Oh no, bin my food. I don't feel like eating now." Tesni waved her away. "I don't need food he has brought."

"OK, fine. See? Doesn't have to be dramatic, does it?" He sighed, grabbing his car keys from the side as he got to his feet. "I'll see you in a bit."

Marlowe sat in the dining room, resting her head on her palm as she flicked through tabs on the the laptop. A cold cup of coffee at her side, and a Russian dictionary at her side.
