Hope Falls

“I don’t need dark angel powers to do it but, I’m not great at it.” Zero seemed to be trying to come up with a solution.

“I can help.” Scarlet told them as she appeared. “I felt her energy from home so I came to make sure you were alright.”

"Scarlett can do it. I trust her more anyway." She hummed, offering Zero a tired but playful smile at the end.

Zero rolled his eyes playfully before a little boy ran out of where scarlet had come from and threw himself at Zero.

“Come to the bedroom,” scarlet told her offering her her hand for support.

Florence followed her quietly, flinching as black mucus began to escape her nostril.

“Don’t worry, it’s painless, I’ve brought the elixir in my bag.” She told her as she sat her on the bed. “I just need to add your dna and then we are done.”

"My DNA?"

“Yeah it’s so it works on my side.” She told her. “My DNA is already in yours.”

"Go for it..."

“How do you want to do this? Hair? Spit? Blood?”

"Hair..."

She opened the bottle and gently took a few strands of hair from her head putting them in the bottle and watching the liquid turn a nice gold colour when she shook it to mix it.

"So this isn't the immortal one, is it? And - and I thought you weren't allowed anywhere near Zero now? Will this mean I never get to see you either?"

“As far as my dad knows I’m at your house and we are having a pamper session.” Scarlet told her. “No it’s the one zero told you about.”

"Okay, OK good. On both accounts."

She nodded. “It will work for the meantime with my dad and make it easier for Zero, I had a panic attack last night when I couldn’t hear him.”

"Mm," She mumbled quietly. "Can we... I'm sorry but can we not right now? I've been terrified for days and I - I get your concern is more Zero then me but I had to come home. I felt ill down there and tired and I needed my family. He was making me feel like I had done all that for nothing; he still is. Like; why the hell did I do what I done when he doesn't seem to care?"

She nodded. “I understand,” she told her. “It was a big thing for both of you, but you know that he is grateful right?”

"No. No.. I genuinely don't." Florence mumbled quietly. "I feel really used right now..."

“Once he gets over this and grieves for what he doesn’t have, he will shower you with gifts and love if you let him.” Scarlet told her. “He loves you Florence, he always has and he probably always will.” She told him. “He is grateful but he just needs to get past this stage.”

"I don't want gifts. I just... I just want - never mind. Forget it."

“No tell me, you can’t just keep saying never mind or forget it, you’ll never get anything done.” She reminded her. “You’re my friend Florence, my closest friend and Zero despite everything is still my brother, I just want you both to be happy, and I believe you will be.”

"I just wish he would think before he speaks sometimes.... he hates my sister but he's never wanted to try and get to know her, he - he doesn't want to move in with me and says his staff will help him as if I'm not enough. I initiate the first touch, I - I do everything first and it just.. it feels one sided."

Scarlet looked to her. “In regards to thinking before he speaks so do I, he’s been the same his whole life.”She told her trying to cheer her up a little. “But you really need to sit down with him and tell him what you want, Zeros last relationship was about one hundred years ago and back then it was the woman initiating things first.” She offered. “That could solve the one sided problem, your sister is a little bit of an anomaly for both of us neither of us are really sure how to take her to be honest.”

"If he liked me like he said he would then he would want to be near me... and he doesn't." She mumbled, pulling her knees up to hug them to her chest.

“Right now Zeros emotions are pretty mixed, he doesn’t know how to deal with losing us and his powers and his wings and his home, I know he’s sorry for what he has done.”
