“He does want to be with you Florence but think about it it’s Zero he’s gone from a Prince to a pauper in the space of eight hours he probably doesn’t feel like he has anything worthy for you, he’s not very confident in himself.” Scarlet told her. “But you two need to sit down and talk.”

"No. I'm going home... sick of this. Sick of all of this." She mumbled, getting to her feet and heading out. Closing the door of the apartment behind herself.

Scarlet sighed. “You can’t just keep walking away.”

She walked home without another word, locking herself inside her apartment and curling up on the bed.

Zero watched her leave and he looked pretty confused. His sister and the kid left after a few minutes and he headed over to her place, knocking on the door.

"What?" She mumbled.

“It’s me, can we talk?”

"Yeah, fine. Whatever..."

He nodded to himself and he didn’t go inside just to give her some space as he sat beside her door. “I heard you and scarlet and whilst my sister is right I need to apologise.” He told her. “So here it goes, I’m sorry I’m sorry for making you feel like I don’t want you around, I’m sorry for making you feel that I don’t love you when you are all I think about, from the first hint of sun to the time when the moon has long risen.” He told her. “I’m sorry for making you feel like I don’t need you when the truth is I need you every day just to help me know that I’m not alone anymore.”

"Doesn't even feel like you know me. Not really. Things have been too crazy... how can you love someone you don't even know?"

“I don’t have an answer to that, but I’m willing to get to know you.”

"How are you going to do that from the other side of the door?"

"Well first I would ask your permission to enter your room, then we could talk to each other and get to know each other."

"Well come in then."

He got up onto his feet and he walked inside her room.

Florence had bundled herself up in her blankets, almost as a protective barrier. Her eyes red and bloodshot from tears that she had already wiped off of her face.

Zero moved to kneel on the floor beside her so that they were the same height, and he gently brushed some of the blanket away slightly so that he could see her face.

Florence swallowed thickly, watching him.

He looked to her. "Okay, what's your favourite colour?"

"Teal... when we were kids me and Eve found this lake in the countryside. It was always the colour teal, it was beautiful. It felt safe there."

He nodded. "Is that what you would call your favourite place?" He asked her.

"Yeah, yeah it is."

He nodded. "Tell me more about it?"
