The Secret War

"If you say so," he shrugged. Taking the food and cutlery, he followed her inside.

"My family is involved in human organs for a living, moat of my family are dead. The money is running out and it is just my older cousin who is horrified by it all trying to pay the bills right now so I don't really feel like joking about it all."

"Human organs? Like.. transplants and stuff?" He wasn't trying to make jokes, just lighten the mood a little.

"Kind of... never mind."

He looked very confused. "Your dad.. you said your cousin is trying to get him home? What will that take?"

"Money to get the equipment over here, a private doctor."

He nodded, clearly thinking about something.

"What?" Leila questioned with a frown, shifting her weight. "I don't like silence. What are you thinking about? You don't want to be near me now do you - this is too much for you... I knew it. Stupid Leila."

"Huh? Where are you getting that from? I didn't say that. If I didn't want to be around you, I wouldn't still be sitting here."

"Your stupid and don't understand a word I have said to you then."

"Do you want me to leave?"

"No I want you to understand what I am telling you!" She snapped then.

"I'm trying to understand. Hence my questions. Yelling at me isn't helping."

"I'm not fucking yelling at you. Get out." She hissed. "This was a stupid idea, you were meant to leave when you found out I didn't realise you were stupid enough to stay or ignorant enough to not actually listen to me when I told you what my family do. Get out."

Colby scuffed at that, setting down the container of food and getting to his feet. "You make no damn sense, you know that? You act so damn nice wanting to be friends.. invite me here and tell me stuff and then kick me out because I didn't leave on my own. Whole lot of sense that makes.." He sighed, shoving his hands into his pockets and headed towards the door.

"Yeah whatever... it's for your own good." She mumbled.

"Right..yet you brought me here."

"I was-"

"Leila? The front door was unlocked. You should know better..." Colson called as he stepped into the house.

Colby was nearly to the front door when it open, standing there and staring at the older guy who could only be her cousin.
