Hunter was quiet for a minute, his gaze having finally fallen upon their clasped hands. "I-.. I don't know."

Kendrick grimaced, finally dragging his hand back to rest it upon his lap. "Your grandparents wanted to know if the person was h - hunting you or trying to turn you."

He moved his hand a little, almost as if to reach out for Kendrick's again but thought against it and instead curled his fingers up in the blanket beneath him. "No.. no he didn't want to turn me, sa-said that would've been too easy."

"He - He okay, that's uh.. that's somewhere to star-" Kendrick cut off with a flinch as the door pushed open and Hudson rushed in.

Hudson's hair dishevelled in his panic, arms instantly wrapping around his brothers shoulders to pull him into a hug. "I knew something was wrong, I knew. I - I had a feeling."

Hunter opened his mouth to say something else but the suddenness of Hudson rushing in caught him off guard. "Hud.. you're good?" He tried to hug him back.

Sarah remained in the doorway.

"No, no I'm not! You scared me."

"No, I-.." Hunter frowned, shifting on the bed to try to sit up a bit all while trying to make Hudson sit down beside him. "I didn't do it on purpose, Hudson."

"Did I say that? No! No, I didn't say that."

Hunter rubbed his forehead. "I didn't say you did.. I just-.. I'm sorry that I scared you "

Hudson just shook his head, getting to his feet to pace.

He sunk back down into the pillows again, closing his eyes.

"Leave him to rest." Kendrick advised quietly, shoulders tensing when Hudson squared up as if to argue. The breathe of relied coming several minutes later, when Hudson stood up and left the room.

Hunter almost spoke up, saying it was fine for his brother to stay but honestly he was just too tired to argue with either of them. Much to his surprise, Hudson left and Sarah followed, leaving him to lay there quietly.
