"Well, first she berated him and then said some things that I care not to repeat."

"Oh, tell me. Please do. I need to hear how your father has got a bit of his own medicine."

"Doesn't mean she's alone though."

He smirked. "Okay," He went into strict detailabout what happened, and she probably would have found it funny that Thorin was berated by a woman not only half his size, but etremely angry. "And to top it off, she would like to meet you."

"She would - oh." Alessia frowned, shaking her head. "Oh no. I'm sure she'll change her mind about me if she meets me, so I - no." Swallowing, she asked quietly, "How did your parents meet? You've never told me their story."

“I don’t really know much about it.” He told her with a slight shrug. “All I know is that she was human when I was conceived and that was it she’s not big on details about herself.”

"When was the last time you asked her? Haven't you ever wondered?"

“To be honest I haven’t seen her until recently, dad likes to keep her to himself and I don’t visit home that often.”

"He is a bastard, I couldn't imagine being with someone like.... that. I bet he controls her."

“To be honest he doesn’t my mum is free to as she pleases, she just can’t leave but that part has very little to do with my dad.”

"And what does that have to do with?"

"That doesn't mean she's alone though."

“Not yet…I’m being stupid aren’t I?”

"She - Oh... oh she uh... she died? Or - or something?"

“Yeah she died during childbirth if I remember correctly, then dad being selfish forged his life with hers and brought her to hell and from there she’s stayed.” He shrugged. “I think that’s how that part of the story goes.”

"During childbirth- y- you?" She frowned, leaning back against the house. "That must have been hard to live with, love."

He nodded. “Turns out human bodies can’t manage the birth of a demon child.” He shrugged. “It’s why I’ve not seen her for majority of my life, I avoided her out of guilt.” He shrugged. “But anyway I think you’d like her, and I’d love for you two to meet, she likes you already based on what I told her.”

"You probably over exaggerated the good, sugar coated the bad."

"No, not at all. You have very real points that are being made here."

Laying on a low embankment of sand and grass was a young lady, her clothes soaked and torn and her long blonde hair a tangled dirty mess. She didn't move at all to give any signs if she was alive or what may have happened.

"Shit," One of the local surfers exclaimed, his board clattering against the floor as his grip of it went slack. Barefoot cutting against jagged stones the peaked through the sand. Raking his fingers through his black hair anxiously before squeezing the girls shoulder, "Hey - hey, wake up. Come on, get up."
