The Queen Is After Me

"Your skins real smoothe, too," She added gently, "And your nice and warm. Could imagine using you as a pillow, you'd make a good pillow." Slowly, she lowered her head down and pressed her lips to his cheek, just so he could feel what that was like too.

Keagan started shaking more violently, face pressing to her shoulder again as he fisted his hand in the back of her shirt, giving a jolt like he was trying not to have a breakdown.

April moved her hand out of his hair to wrap tightly around him again, holding him close and just trying her best to soothe him gently.

Keagan swallowed audibly before he let go reluctantly and stepped away from her, putting space between them and making sure they were no longer touching. Daniel immediately let go of the both of them and slumped to his knees, fighting to catch his breath because he had overtaxed his power.

April frowned and just watched him step away, frowning a little more when Daniel slumped and crouching down beside him, "Thank you so much. You should go get some rest,"

Daniel gave her a shaky grin, looking almost feverish and sweaty, and then abruptly passed out.

"His limit is six minutes. We kept him going for eight. He'll need to regain that energy. I-I'll go cook him something. If I touch him now, it'll hurt him." Keagan's voice was soft and he silently shuffled into the kitchen."

April gave a small nod and watched him leave the room, pulling Daniel up on the sofa and resting his head on the pillow, covering him over before heading into the kitchen after Keagan and watching him quietly.

"Come on, my home is this way." She stood up and she offered Orion her hands.

Keagan was breaking eggs into a bowl and quietly asked, "Do you want an omelete too?"

April gave a small nod, "Yeah please," she answered before whispering, "Next time we will have to ask Daniel to make it so you and Fleet can touch."

Orion quickly packed his violin up, tucking the broken, bloody string into the case as well before he picked it up and eagerly moved to grab her hand in his free one.

Slowly, the woman stood.

"I'm not sure Fleet would be that interested. Plus, Daniel won't be able to do that again for days. If it's jus himself he could keep it up all day and all night. Taking along a passenger exhausted him." He started whisking the eggs.

"Why wouldn't Fleet be interested?" She asked with a small frown before nodding to what he said, "Yeah, I know it'll be a few days."

She wisteled and the wolves ran ahead, and they walked to the house where Raja was perched on the porch waiting for them.

"Reflexive reaction. His body would remember the pain and refuse to let him come in contact with me."

Orion swung their hands between them cheerfully, though his smile was a little twitchy with pain. The woman followed them quietly, hands held together behind her back, so she was in an almost posh, regal position.

She just gave a nod at that, whispering quietly, "I really enjoyed that.. Don't know why.."

She smiled at seeing Raja. "Hello Raja." She stroked him as she moved to unlock the door.

"Probably because Fleet is a jerk and wouldn't let you close, I physically cannot come close to you, and you're probably starved of attention too. Just not to the extent I am."

Orion followed her, almost excited, and turned around to smile at his mother to make sure she was still following. He was afraid that she might leave if given the chance.

When they were inside she looked at Raja. "Take them to the lounge while I start the dinner."

Raja nodded and nuzzled Orion, gesturing for him to follow.

"Mm," She hummed quietly in response, nodding a bit. "Yeah, maybe that is it."

Orion set his violin down in the hallway carefully, propping it against the wall by the door before he suddenly dropped to his knees and started giving Raja affection, cooing softly and gently, just petting him with fascination and excitement befitting of someone less than half his age as opposed to a twenty year old. Since he was naive and easily trusting, he wasn't frightened, like a normal person should be upon seeing a tiger.

His mother just hovered almost nervously, reaching forward as if to pull Orion away and giving an apologetic half smile half grimace at his exuberant attitude.

Keagan's fingers twitched as poured the whisked egg into a pan he had been warming on a small cooker. "I want to touch you again but I can't." He sounded wistful and almost broken. "I feel like I want to be selfish. I want everything I can get but I have to wait for it."

"In a few days when Daniel is feeling better, if he's willing to of course - it mostly depends on him." April whispered, frowning a little.

"I've waited fifteen years. What's a few days?" Keagan sounded bitter. "But I'm not going to be cruel and ask that of Daniel. You see what it does to him. I'm not going to cause him days of pain for a few blissful minutes." He pulled a spatula out of a drawer and used it to help him flip the cooking omelette. "I've had my time. I never thought I could, but I did. And I'll keep that memory with me for the rest of my life."

April let out a deep sigh at that, walking to stand at his side though was a safe distance from him all the same, "We'll find a way, Keag," she promised, "If we wait until Daniel gets more powerful, a little older, then he might be able to project it or something, or know more how it works, we'll figure it out. I promise we will."

"I'm not going to use Daniel like that, because it's disgusting and awful. I know what it's like, I've had my time and I'm fine with what I've had." Keagan shuffled further away from her and reached to get a plate out, flipping the omelette onto it and pushing the plate towards her before he proceeded to pour the rest of the whisked egg into the hot pan.
