How Long Do We Hide For?

"I'd best go to bed." She stood up.

Dallas sighed and gave a nod.

"I love you dad." She told him, before she left the room and her door shut just as Hermione walked into the living room running a brush through her hair, wearing jeans, a low cut top and boots.

"Where'd you work?"

"At the night club in town." She looked at him as she spoke. "I'll be gone all night, so don't wait up."

"Kay,"

"You know, I heard what you said earlier and just now when you were talking to Rose." She told him.

Dallas shrugged.

"And I can't believe you were so wrong." She told him as she applied her lipstick. "Dallas, look at me now and tell me truthfully what you think of me."

"How was I wrong," He asked with a subtle, bitter, laugh, "You more or less tell me to suck it up when the people that may aswell be my family outcast me. When my heart is being ripped into a thousand pieces and then stamped on. Your not even giving me a chance anymore. You refuse to apologise for accusing me of wanting to stay away when I've apologised for being forced away even though it wasn't my fault."

"I accepted your aplogy for that. I don't basically 'tell you to suck it up', I am giving you a chance and I would apologise if you didn't snap at me everytime I did something." She told him. "And if this relates back to earlier when I walked away during Rose's shift, it was because of 2 reasons: 1) You know how I feel about foxes and 2) I didn't want to see my little girl in pain when I've spent the past 10 years wrapping her in bubble wrap."

"So you were scared of her. She's a fox, she always has been one just as I have always been one. Difference is she's never known how to shift. You didn't want to see her in pain, what, and I did?! That's pathetic! You should want to be there to at least try and take away her pain so she wouldn't be alone. Not run away because you feel helpless and because your daughter has finally developed the ability to to shift into one of the greatest, most loyal things. You've raised her in a way that she is terrified of foxes. Terrified of me, terrified of herself and if you hadn't of then she'd be a part of a pack, she'd be excited, not a scared. She'd feel the greatest kind of acceptance there is, unconditional acceptance, the kind where even if the other person is terrified of what is happening they'll stay by your side no matter what." He shook his head, "You used to be brave, before I got ill, you were completely fine with me. Completely fine with the pack. Then I got ill and you started acting scared." he shook his head, "Do you know how that made me feel, hmm? When you harp on about being scared of foxes. I am a fox. That means you're scared of me. You avoid me like the plague nowadays too."

"I avoid you because you go off like this. I've always been fine with you Dallas, because 1 I can handle, more than one then I'm in the deep end, and the pack didn't like me from the start that was obvious. And for your information, I didn't teach Rosalie to be scared of foxes, she made her own choice not to like them that much, it had nothing to do with me." She grabbed her bag. "So you know what Dallas, you want her to like the foxes, then fine take her to the pack get her involved with them, just don't expect me to calm her down when you do. Now if you will excuse me, I have to get to work." She left the flat, shutting the door behind her.

Emma: kissed his cheek lightly

He gently kissed her lips in return.

"You didn't get the point, did you!" Dallas snapped before shifting into a fox and flattening himself out so he could crawl beneath the sofa. Curling up under there.

The next morning, Rosalie walked out of her room, dressed in her uniform and she looked around, finding Hermione curled up in her bed.

Dallas was still under the sofa in his fox form, fast asleep.

Emma: smiled softly kissing him back

Rosalie put a note on the dining room table, before she left the flat, carrying a holdall and she walked to a car that had pulled up, obviously Bobby's.

Dallas was fast asleep.

Later on, Hermione walked into the living room and she looked at the clock, noticing that Rosalie was meant to be home, before she found the note which explained why she wasn't, and she sighed sitting on the counter in the kitchen.

Dallas had woken up about half an hour ago, but had remained where he was, staring ahead blankly.

Hermione was silent for a long time, before she phone went, and she actually jumped, before she went to answer it. "Hello?" She listened for a while before her voice hardened. "Bobby, what did you do?"

Dallas' ears perked at that as he listened, a low growl coming from the back of his throat.
