"I uh, I -" Dakota whispered, before getting up and flinging herself at Astrid, hugging her tightly. "Thank you Astrid, thank you so much."

"It's best for your career, mm." She nodded.

"Mind if I butt in?" Vanessa said quietly when she saw Mia, getting out of the car and getting L.J out of his seat before walking towards her, Karina following at her feet.

Mia wrapped her arms around his neck and pressed herself against him, pulling away when she heard Vanessa and hugging her sister tightly.

Astrid laughed a bit and hugged her back, "Don't worry about it," she whispered before telling her, in a quiet whisper, "Go thank Kol too, hm?"

"Whatever," Henrik sighed.

Dakota nodded, staying where she was for another minute or so before pulling away and doing the same to Kol when he walked into the room. Kol cringed a bit, not really knowing what to do for a few seconds before awkwardly hugging Dakota back.

"Hey," Vanessa greeted with a laugh, hugging her back with one arm for a minute before pulling away and gently bouncing L.J on her hip, "Meet your auntie Mia L.J." she said softly, smiling when her son giggled and reached his arms out.

"Right, that's her," Henrik's PA told himlater on that night when they were stood outside a coffee shop, pointing to a young blonde woman through the window who was sat on her own. She didn't really look much like Violet, other than the hair colour and shape. "Paps will be here in about an hour, make sure you leave at the right time."

"Okay," Henrik whispered quietly before heading inside and sliding into the seat opposite Poppy with a grumbled hello in greeting.

Mia smiled brightly and picked L.J out of Vanessa's arms when he reached forward, "Hey, L.J. Aren't you adorable?"

Astrid laughed as she watched.

"Your PA forcing you to do this for publicity too, huh?" Poppy said quietly, holding her hand out. "I'm Poppy."

"Anytime," Kol mumbled when Dakota thanked him repeatedly.

"You Mia," L.J grinned, having remembered from earlier when Vanessa introduced them. "I L.J." he pointed to himself happily.

"Well, acid was thrown in my face yesterday and then my girlfriend dumped me a matter of minutes later so, no offence to you , but yeah it's kind of being forced." Henrik sighed before shaking her hand and whispering, "I'm Henrik,"

"Loosen up, pretty boy. Don't look so uncomfortable." Astrid laughed.

L.J just giggled at that, leaning forward and wrapping his arms around Mia's neck in a hug.

"Say Hi Kari." Vanessa encouraged quietly, pushing Karina forward as she'd been hiding behind her mothers leg. "It's your Auntie Mia."

"Yeah I read about that, how people get away with stuff like that I'll never know." Poppy wrinkled her nose after shaking his hand. "Your makeup artist has done a great job of covering it up though, you can hardly tell." she added with a soft smile.

"I'm not used to hugs from anyone but you," Kol laughed a little.

"Mm, reckon I should increase their pay?" He asked with a light laugh, "It's weird, having to act like I'm happy… I'm no actor, you know? How do you pull faking emotions off so well? It feels so unnatural."

Mia smiled and hugged L.J lightly though her smile faded at Karina's hesitation.

"You say it like I'm s'pposed to remember and I don't." Karina whispered to her mother, looking up at Mia. "I'm sorry, I'm really sorry."

"I've had several people in my life I've had to pretend to adore when really I've wanted to gouge their eyes out, mostly my fathers endless list of wives and their kids. It comes natural when you're forced to have to pretend for so long."

"Mm, I suppose. You always want to be an actress then?" He asked curiously before asking, "Want a coffee or something? I'd suggest alcohol but I imagine my PA would freak because of 'image' so caffeine is a good substitute."

Mia gave a short laugh, quiet and muttered, "It's fine. Just fine." as she handed L.J back to Vanessa. Reaching over to grab Caleb's hand, seeking the comfort.

"Coffee sounds good, thanks." Poppy nodded. "And yeah, acting was always my thing."

"Music was always mine, well, mine and my sisters. She's in college doing her degrees to teach it." He told her quietly, before calling someone over and ordering them both a coffee. "Uh, why is acting your thing?"

Mia just gave a small nod and hugged Karina back quietly.

"I can't sing, I can't dance, I can't paint or draw, I'm not bookish and the thought of cutting someone open makes me want to vomit. But I'm good at smiling and I'm good at lying about how a feel. So being an actress was an easy choice for me." Poppy shrugged. "How come you're so musical?"

"Mummys happy now you're back, she felt real bad that you were gone."

"Shh Karina," Vanessa said gently.

"I just like music, suppose, like making it and listening to it and even analysing it. You can express emotion in it that is deeper than what people see on the surface in songs and music, and other people can share your feelings and listen and understand without going into any personal details of baggage." Henrik shrugged.

Mia just glanced to Vanessa quietly then.

"Fair enough," Poppy hummed, thanking the waitress when she came over with their drinks. When her coffee was in front of her, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a small bag of vervain, sprinkling some in her drink before offering the bag over to Henrik. "According to my gran it wards off vampires, but I just think it tastes nice." she laughed.

"How bad I felt about you being gone doesn't compare to how bad you must've felt all that time." Vanessa said quietly, pulling her sister into another hug. "I'm sorry I never broke through the spell, you're my baby sister, I should've done something."

Henrik's shoulders tensed very slightly at it though forced himself to relax as he politely declined, "No thank you. You don't believe in all of that vampire rubbish do you? It's stuff of fairy tales and movies."

"No one did… it's fine, it wasn't your fault."
