Just as they exited the house, Astrid made a small whining noise and dropped down unconscious, a needle that had just contained vervain in her neck. A few seconds later, someone shoved a needle into the side of Kol's neck.

Kol had frowned and held his arms out to catch Astrid before frowning and dropping himself when he was injected.

"It is, I - I could've done something, I could've killed my dad, snapped his neck and ran or, or something." Dakota whined. "I should've tried harder, should've been better..."

"Can you not get one of your witches to do something, to try something, anything?" Dakota almost begged as she dug her fingers in his shoulder to try and stop herself from bursting into tears. "I - I can't go on knowing she was here - " she moved a hand to her stomach. "And I never got to meet her, I can't."

"No, but I'd know. Honest I would." Henrik replied gently, "The amount of kids my mum and dad lost is crazy. They probably would of looked into it, which is why I know it's not possible."

About 45 minutes later, Astrid blinked her eyes open with a groan. Glancing around and cursing quietly when she saw metal bars around her, forcing herself to sit up and looking around for Kol.

"Well we'll have the typical mother/daughter in law relationship then mm? from what I've gathered the typical one of those isn't so good and your mother trusts the five more than she's ever trusted me. But sure, you go see her, not like I need you or anything." Dakota replied, being heavily sarcastic.
