Caleb told her about what their parents were like when they were human, and Elijah kept quiet at the mention of their mother.

Marie was listening to Caleb speak but was watching Elijah the whole time.

"He was close to our mother, she looked after him and understood the problems he had when he became what he is."

Marie slid her hand into Elijah's squeezing it softly.

He smiled back.

Marie remained silent so Caleb could continue if he wanted.

At around midday, one of the maids rushed into the drawing room searching for Lucian, a calmer looking man that looked to be middle class following behind her at a more relaxed pace. A scroll held in his hand.

Lucian looked up from his book with a frown, "What is this?" He asked.

"A message has come forth, my lord, an urgent one." The maid explained quietly, adding, "I am sorry for barging in as I did…" before she bowed her head and turned to take the scroll from the scroll bearer. Handing it to Lucian before they both excused themselves and left.

Inside of the scroll would be the words;
To Lord  Lucian Christopher Dayne, 
 
  We have been watching you and your family in secret for some time now whilst we plotted and tried to figure out our best strategies for gaining the most.  Though it seems your little wife has done that job for us and made ours a lot simpler.   She is a Princess, is she not? A quaint little thing too, rather breakable. She was wandering the streets for one reason or another to cut a dreadfully boring story to the point, we now have her and wish for a ransom some by sundown tonight. If none is given then she will be executing, in front of the whole town - oh, and let us not forgot we will reveal what she, you, and your families are to the entire town. That your diets do not match our own, may we say? Leave the ransom money of what is shown below beside the fountain by the time set if you wish to get her back.

Caked carried on telling her up to the part where they became vampires.

Marie had gently wrapped her arms around Elijah and laid her head on his should as she listened.

He held her closer.

She lifted her head pressing a small kiss to his jaw.

He kissed her lips in return.

She smiled softly at this.

He smiled back.

Marie looked out over the water then.

He smiled softly at her.

She returned the smiled gently playing with his fingers.

He watched her.

Marie blushed a little when she realized what she was doing and that he was watching her.

He gently nuzzled her neck.

This made her giggle quietly.

He smiled at her giggle.

"T-that tickles" she whispered softly.
