"Good." He whispered.

Marie giggled softly at him.

He smiled and pressed a kiss to her neck.

Marie moved closer to side nuzzling her head against his neck.

hE laughed quietly.

Lucian sighed deeply, tearing the paper and throwing it into the fire.

Lucinda wandered into the room and tilted her head at that, asking curiously, "Why you throw paper into the fire?" as she tried to crawl up onto his lap.

"Because I didn't like what was written in it," Lucian said quietly as he picked her up and sat her on his lap, kissing her forehead.

"Oh," Lucinda whispered but knew better than to ask what it was about.

"It's fine Luci, just some people daddy owes money to being demanding over receiving it."

"Why can they just not wait till you got it?"

"Because they're impatient."

"Why?"

"Because they are."

She smiled hearing his laughter and looked up at him.

He smiled at her.

"Why though?"

She smiled going back to looking at the lake.

"Its great when its cold isn't it?"

"I suppose if you enjoy the cold. Though I like it as I get to see the two of you more."

"Drop it Lucinda!"

Lucinda tensed at her fathers tone and went quiet instantly, shuffling to slid off of his lap and asking quietly, "Where is mama? She said she'd look at my drawings today..."

"She has gone out to run errands."

Both boys laughed.

"When she back?"
