"Whatever you cooked was never really that nice though, dad." Astrid replied with a quiet laugh.

"I love you too, Adrian."

"You liked it well enough to shove it down your neck at mealtimes."

Tatia just shook her head, sitting up and wincing as she was given an epidural.

"I'd starve otherwise." She laughed.

Klaus watched silently.

Adam frowned deeply.

"Nik I'm scared, really scared." Tatia whimpered.

"I know, Tat , I know."

"I'm kiddin' dad. Just joking." Astrid assured.

"I tried my best Asa."

Tatia trembled as she leaned against him.

"I was joking," Astrid repeated gently, "You done great, it was never that bad, the food."

Klaus held her as close as he could

Tatia snuggled her head under his.

"I know it wasn't great but... I was never taught."

"It could of been worse, you done just fine." Astrid whispered softly in response to that.

Klaus kissed the side of her head.

"Would've done better had your stepfather not killed me."

Almost a day later, after a very complicated process a very small baby was delivered and placed into Klaus' arms after being cleaned up.

"Don't call him that, he ain't that. He's just Klaus, all he is to me, Klaus." Astrid whispered.

(( Sounds good to me unless we skip now? Until the baby is a toddler, the we can do the thing with Tatia showing Adam what it was really like ))

"He married your mother. He's your stepfather."

"Don't think of him like that. None of us do, that'd make me and Kol weirder, if I thought of Klaus like that and we're odd enough as it is."

"Even weirder if he was your father. I don't know if I trust your mother that you're mine in the blood sense." Adam admitted.

"Mum?" Vanessa mumbled as she pushed her way into the room, sitting beside her mother and quickly handing her a bloodbag. "Are you okay?" She whispered before looking over at her father. "Is the kid okay? They wouldn't let me in." She glared at a nurse

"You're my dad." Astrid replied bluntly. "Course you're my dad, don't be silly." she whispered.

"The baby is fine." Klaus confirmed quietly, "Don't worry."

"She was sleeping with Klaus. What if that's how you came about?"

"Let me see." Tatia whispered as she took the bloodbag from Vanessa and drained it. "Let me see."

"I don't look like him, at all, not one little bit." Astrid whispered with a shake of her head, "Don't act like him. Me and Ness never used to get on because I wasn't his so the werewolf part of her kicked in with me being an outsider of the pack and things. I'm yours, you're my dad. You can't not be."

Klaus passed the baby to her.

Tatia held the baby, sighing in relief that she wasn't harmed.

"Hopes flying back home, she heard about everything going on..."

Adam just nodded a little at that.

Astrid watched the ground in silence for a few moments before getting to her feet and bringing her plate out into the kitchen.

Klaus just nodded a little bit.

"Want me to watch mum for a while whilst you go do something with the bodies?" Vanessa whispered.

"No, no. He can't leave me yet."

Adam watched her go.

Klaus just frowned deeply, having been about to nod in response to Vanessa's question before Tatia's outburst.

"No you promised me you'd stay with me." Tatia whispered as she kissed their daughters head.

"Mum -"

"No." Tatia mumbled, clearly shaken up about it all. "I'm only safe with you around. Last time you left me in a hospital he came."
