Sarai screamed as she ran through a forest on the otherside, stumbling every so often and holding tightly onto her mothers hand. Glancing over her shoulder at the blackness and gulping as she saw others get dragged into it.

Tatia swooped down and picked Sarai up as she ran, holding her tightly. When she came across Peter, his friend and her family in the woods she sighed in relief.

"Touch me, you'll pass through." Peters friend groaned through his chanting, he was already on all fours on the ground, the spell having taken it's toll already.

"She's here?! Mum?! Sarai?!" Vanessa called. "Just press a hand against him and you'll be okay. You'll be back with us!"

"No, me instead." Peter mumbled through gritted teeth, leant back heavily against the tree though not as exhausted as his friend was. "I'll be able to handle it, he won't."

"What about you?" Sarai whined quietly, clinging onto her mother.

"He's only strong enough for one of us honey," Tatia said gently, putting Sarai down and kneeling infront of her so she was at eye level. "Tell your dad that in the suitcase full of my summer clothes there's a safe. Tell him the combination code is our wedding date. Tell everyone I love them, can you remember that for me?" She whispered, running a hand down her face. "Can you remember that?"

"What's taking so long?!" Lucas hissed. "Mum! Sarai hurry up!" He shouted.

"Something must be wrong..." Kira whispered.

"Shut up! Shut up they'll be here." Vanessa gulped.

Sarai shook her head in the negative, not to her questions but to the idea of going without her. "No." she replied simply, screaming when the darkness got nearer them and hugging her mother tightly.

"Of course they will." Klaus whispered, resting his hand on Vanessa's shoulder in silent comfort.

"I love you baby, my little girl." Tatia whispered as se kissed her fore head and hugged her quietly. Don't forget to tell your dad what I said about the safe. Tell everyone else I love them too." Tatia whispered before untangling herself from her daughter and shoving her into Peter. Just as she did that, the darkness reached forward to Tatia who took one last glance towards her family before calmly walking into a bright light that appeared before the darkness got her

"And you're safe, kid. You're safe." Peter whispered, wrapping his arms around Sarai so she was pulled through quicker.

"No!" Sarai screamed, struggling until Peter let go of her before hitting his arm, "Put him back! Put me back! Mama needs to come back to! Put me back so I can get her!"

Klaus, whom had smiled brightly intially, soon tensed at his youngest daughters words. Slowly walking over and picking her up, "Hey Sarai," he whispered softly, "What happened?"

"She said they could only take one of us and made me through and then went into the pretty good thing and I needa get her! Let me back!" Sarai yelled.

Peter just frowned deeply before walking to his friend and sitting down heavily beside him, resting a hand on his shoulder and mumbling, "Thanks mate, you can stop now..."

"Mom?! Mom come on!" Vanessa hissed as she paced.

"She's gone, found peace. No coming back for her," Peters friend muttered before collapsing heavily as he stopped chanting.

"Thanks for the help, mate." Peter mumbled quietly to his friend, "Woulda killed me to do it alone."

Sarai just buried her face in her fathers shoulder, sobbing hysterically.

"Sshh," Klaus soothed softly with a sigh, smoothing her hair down gently before wrapping an arm around Vanessa and pulling her into his side. "We've got Sarai back Ness, you know she'd of preferred that to the other way around."

"S'fine." He groaned.

"But mom!" Vanessa sobbed into her father.

Kira leaned against Lucas heavily.

"I know," Klaus whispered quietly, putting Sarai down when she mumbled something almost incoherent. Watching her as she walked over to Lucas and Kira and hugged them both tightly. Klaus sighing softly before wrapping his now spare arm around Vanessa too, holding her close and smoothing her hair down gently, "She's somewhere nice now, hm? Found peace. She's with her mother, most likely. I'm sure it's better than the Other Side Ness, don't worry."

Astrid frowned a bit, having been stood at a distance watching though when the chanting had stopped and only Sarai had returned she tensed. Turning and wandering back to her car.

Vanessa turned and buried her head against him, sobbing heavily.

"Hey princess." Lucas greeted as he picked her up, holding her closely.

Peter just patted his back before grimacing when he felt dizzy, lifting his hand up to his head.

"Hi..." She whispered shakily in response before burying her face in his shoulder with a sob. Trembling violently against him.

Klaus just smoothed Vanessa's hair down gently, whispering, "It's okay, it'll be okay."

"I got you baby." Lucas soothed gently.

"Thank you." Kira whispered as she bent down beside Peter and his friend, "thank you so much."

"Mum..." Vanessa bit out with a sob.

"It's fine," Peter mumbled, "Maybe you people should be happy about getting the kid back instead of crying about the adult, hm? Make the poor kid feel awful if your too busy wallowing in grief over her when she's back."

"The nasty thing almost got us and I kept falling because it was windy and..and.." Sarai sobbed.

"Sshh," Klaus soothed Vanessa gently

"We just lost our mother." Kira hissed then as she stood up.

"It's okay, you're here now. I have you, you're safe Sarai,"

Vanessa began to tremble, legs shaking. "She promise me..."

"No, you lost your mother when she first died." Peter muttered, "You've just gotten your sister back." he added before pulling his phone from his pocket and calling Violet.

"I know she did," Klaus whispered gently, "I know.... Kir - can you phone Mia and tell her for me? and Henrik and Hope." he asked quietly.

Sarai just sobbed into his shoulder

"Hey you." Violet greeted sleepily.

Kira took her phone out and rang Mia.

"She promised me... No more dying. She wouldn't leave me again!" Vanessa keeled before her knees gave out.

"I'm here Sarai... Did mum say anything before she left?"

Trinity was in the kitchen painting one of the walls a light yellowish color having slowly been redecorating their home one room at a time.


Caleb was in the back yard cutting and sanding down pieces of lumber.
