"I wouldn't kill you, dearie. 'tisn't my privilege to take you apart, it's Theron's. But I'm not above scaring you. Now, I asked you a question and would like an answer - you'll remind Theon for me, won't you?"

"Yeah," Anastasia whispered, then cleared her throat and said louder, "Yes."

Nevia just nodded subtly in response to that, trembling.

Atticus smiled brightly at that, taking the ring from the box and putting it on her finger.

"I have business to tend to now. Hopefully Theon isn't that much of a coward as to keep hidden from you." Luci rest the back of a hand against her cheek and leaned in to almost sweetly kiss her, a complete contrast as to before. "Remember what we've talked about. I'll see you soon."

As soon as the ring was in place, Anastasia reached forward to wrap her arms around his neck, pulling herself closer towards him for a kiss.

"Bye..." Nevia whispered quietly, sliding an arm around his shoulder in case Theon didn't return instantly and he slumped forward.

Atticus kissed her back deeply.

Most of Theon's weight was still on the desk where Luci had been sat, so even though it took him a few minutes and a handful of twitches to wake up, Nevia didn't need to hold his entire weight up.

"I hope you don't feel obliged to marry me," Anastasia mumbled into the kiss. "Because if what I told you."

Nevia just buried her face in Theon's hair, trembling a little bit as she pulled a seat up beside him and swallowed thickly.

"No, no. I love you. I want to marry you because I love you."

Theon remained silent as he gathered himself and then said, "It is regretful he chose to frighten you in such a manner." It was the closest he could get in this moment in time to an apology.

"I love you too," Anastasia replied, cheeks a little pink as she ducked her head as if to hide because she was bashful.

"It's not your fault," Nevia whispered quietly in response to that, leaning back on her chair and rubbing her neck quietly. "I'm sorry I embarrassed you."

He laughed a little bit at that.

"It wasn't embarrassment," Theon muttered. "Just at a loss as to how I should react and Luci took advantage of my lapse in concentration. 'Pleased' and 'smug' are better words."

"Oh shush." Anastasia thumped his shoulder. "I can storm into a fight but god forbid I get a little embarrassed when I tell someone I love them."

"You blushed," Nevia whispered with a quiet laugh, interlocking her fingers with his gently.

Atticus just laughed, humming, "That's why it's hilarious,"

"Pleased," Theon reiterated firmly as if saying with that one word there would be no argument about it. But, ever so gently, his hand squeezed around hers, a barely felt pressure.

"So I'm a little short sighted in the way of softer things." Anastasia sounded almost defensive. "Being raised as a soldier does that to someone. I-I can't say it as easily as others, I'm sorry. I can't be a soft little dame, smooth skinned with pretty hair and red lips I can't....I can't be anything for you."

"I just want you to be yourself, don't be all defensive." He chuckled gently. "I love you, not the person you just described - the person you think I am. You. I love you, I want you."

"So, can I still have a brownie?" She asked with a weak smile.

Anastasia made a breathless noise, the flush on her cheeks spreading to her ears and the top of her chest and suddenly she seemed interested in twiddling her fingers together.

"You can have all the brownies," Theon said, with great seriousness as if he were giving her wealth. "The donuts from the fancy place down the road, too. They're in the cupboard."

She laughed a little bit at that and nodded, picking up a brownie and taking a bite as she hummed, "These are really good, where did you get them?"

Atticus just laughed a little bit at that.

"I asked for someone to make them." And then a wicked smile crossed his face. "It'll affect you more than me, but there's a special little herb you can guess about in them."

"First time anyone's ever said anything like that to me," Anastasia admitted in a soft, quiet voice.

Nevia's eyes widened a bit at that, "You got drug brownies?! Theo!"

"Everyone else has been stupid then."

Theon laughed almost brightly at her reaction. "I thought you could use some relaxation!"

"Everyone else was being practical. The only good compliments are productive ones. Like, being complimented on your blade technique, or how even and straight your shots are, or the way you handle the recoil of heavier weapons. Being needed or wanted or loved can't keep a demon from disembowelling you."

Nevia just shoved him, laughing gently in response to that. "That isn't fair, they won't effect you, will they, hm?"

"Not unless I ate a ferry load, no. Human recreational drugs don't affect me in amounts this small."

"I suppose the knowledge of someone to return to is motivation to fight. But I might not have that to worry about now." Anastasia ran her thumb over the ring.

"You eat them all them," She chuckled as she handed him the plate, after stealing another for herself. "It's not fair you - I mean me - having all the joy, mm? You're really handsome, really, really handsome. I love you..." she ranted, sliding her arms around his neck and pressing her lips to his jawline caringly.

"Mm," He hummed with a bright smile. "You'll be all mine, I won't have to worry about you anymore. Hopefully..."

"I don't want anymore." Theon shrugged. "You're going to get the munchies soon."

"You're going to make me stuck in a permanent blush if you don't stop saying such sweet things...."

"But you said there were donuts so that won't be a problem," Nevia hummed, nuzzling his face into the crook of his neck. Luci told me to remind you about some list…. Or told you to make one. Was too busy trying to breath to really focus on the words, don't tell him that though..."

"Sorry," He chuckled.

"When I say munchies, I mean munchies. You're going to eat a lot more than a handful of brownies and a half dozen donuts."

"Oh, I bet you aren't sorry at all," Anastasia smiled slightly.

"Mm," She hummed before pressing a deep kiss to his lips.

Atticus laughed a bit and smirked.

"Apparently you want to eat me, instead," Theon said with a low laugh, kissing her softly back.

Anastasia rolled her eyes and murmured something fondly about him being childish.
