I'm not taking her side. I love her dearly. But I can't defend her actions when I know they were wrong. I understand you're hurting. I understand what you're going through. You and I have been through a lot of similar situations Leon.

Curtis tensed up at that, mumbling stiffly, "What did I do wrong?"

"Only going for a week." L.J replied with a small shrug

You don't have to be anyone's doormat Leon, of course you don't. The kids are just terrified of change. You two together is what they've always been able to rely on, their parents as a team. And it's changing and they're scared. And you know as well as I do that changes in mood are always taken out on the parents.

It's different though, if L.J or Kari would of said I wasn't her father anymore it wouldn't be as bad but because Nikolai isn't mine the only thing that made him my son was how we thought of each other, and he doesn't think like that anymore.

Nikolai is probably still facing problems from when he came back. Dying and coming back.. it's a huge emotional thing as you know. He wont mean it.

"You'll hurt me more if you leave me now," He replied with a deep sigh, pulling him into a hug.

Nikolai leaned into him

"Don't leave me sunshine, I'm not going to leave you." Curtis replied with a soft sigh, resting his head on top of his head. "We aren't together because we're good enough for each other - we're together because we have a connection."

"And I'll hurt you and the connection will die."

"Or you'll hurt me and I'll forgive you, we'll grow stronger and vice versa."

"Or it'll crush you."

"Nothing crushes me."

"We'll see."

"Mm," Curtis hummed softly, resting his head on top of his and closing his eyes. "Just relax, hm? Close your eyes and lets sit in silence for a bit."

"Why are you like this? So attached?"

"Attached? I... I uh, honestly do not know, is it a problem?"
