“I’ve got Kols daughter and my sister Sarah’s son but…it’s not the same you know.”

"It might not be the same but I'm sure they all love you and look up to you.."

“When I see them.” He shrugged. “I mean Deanna was the first kid that I could technically call mine you know.”

She nodded. "There's a bond there. I get what you're saying. You're lucky to have that though."

He nodded. “Thanks for understanding, many people just think it’s weird.”

"Why? You've known her since before she was even born."

“Because she isn’t mine I guess.”

"That's silly. A child doesn't have to be yours for you to love them like they are. I think it's wonderful and special.. "

He nodded. “Come on let’s get these snacks to the munchkin before she eats my sofa.”

Denise laughed softly. "Lead the way."

He headed back to Deanna, picking the kid up with one hand so he could put the things down then settling down on the sofa with her.

She giggled happily, clapping her hands.

Denise smiled, setting the drinks down.

He smiled at her. “Thanks.”

"You're welcome," she smiled and sat down near them.

He went back to watching the film with them

She passed out their drinks.

He took his drink with a thank you as he passed Deanna hers when she wanted it

Denise smiled at him.

Deanna sipped her drink put quickly put it down to sing-along to the songs in the movie.

Peter smiled at her before he watched Deanna with a smile.

She clearly loved the movie and knew it all by heart, her favorite song being 'Kiss the Girl'.

Peter was happy to just watch, he had probably heard this movie over 100 times but it made her happy

Denise had seen it many many times growing up so knew the entire movie as well.

Peter watched them both and he smiled slightly

She smiled back at him when she noticed.

He kept his smile
