Creatures of the Dark

"I'll sleep once you are." She promised, lifting her chin to rest it on top of his head. Tightening her arm around his torso to bring him in closer to her. "Goodnight."

He settled against her. "You know, before your mother made me into this, everyone assumed I was human." he told her.

"What were you really?"

"A half demon." He told her. "My father was a demon, my mother a human."

"Oh? You never told me that."

"I wonder why." He told her. "I suppose it doesn't really matter."

"What did - what did that mean then? What could you do - does it... does it mean anything for you now?"

"Sometimes..." He told her, "It's mainly to do with the bodies, Im not just taking blood, I take their soul, that's the nicest part." He told her. "Some souls taste so sweet and delicious...I used to be able to do things but I doubt I could do them now if you've never seen me do anything." He shrugged.

"You kept all this quiet, maybe you kept what you could do hidden aswell. Tell me... please."

He looked to her. "I can't really do it in here, it's better if I show you."

"Okay," She whispered, peeling herself away from him to get to her feet. "Take me where you can show me."

She ran her fingers through his hair as she kissed him.

He grabbed his tshirt and he got up, heading outside with her.

He moved a hand into her hair, pulling her close and deepening the kiss as he did.

Alessia followed a few paces behind

When they were outside he looked to her. "Different demons do different things, mine was to be the harbinger of life and death, I was to take y father's place eventually, which was probably why your mother found me so interesting."

"I dont understand what that means..."

"A harbinger is the one who chooses who lives and who dies and where the dead are to go, e.g eternity in fire, being nagged by a mother in law, or something else traumatic for the rest of eternity."

She made a soft noise of content against his lips, moving as close to him as she was able to.

"The nagged by a mother in law sounded like a very personal one to you. Your ex wife's mother and you butted heads then?" Alessia hummed in amusment, though it was just a passing comment as she motioned for him to carry on.

He smiled softly. "Lily's mother actually wasn't too bad." He told her. "That's pretty much my power in a nutshell," He continued. "But I could also sumon other demons."

"Okay... show me."

"If I remmeber how." He told her with a playful smile.

There was only so close that she could get but it didn't stop her from trying.
