"Yeah they are." Evelyn looked at the helicopter and it suddeny started to falter, smoke suddenly coming from its engine.

"And if she can't?"

"They won't be happy that you've broken their favourite toy by the way."

"I'm not taking the chance of them getting through the barrier of the mansion."

"Then we will come up with something else."

"You do know, even if they did, Disaster would freak the hell out and then proceed to mutilate them. He's prone to panic attacks when reminded of his time in captiva - " Ephraim suddenly staggered back, something bouncing off of his shoulder and leaving a tear in his shirt before he twisted his body protectively in front of Evelyn's. He'd been shot. The next one grazed by his cheek and, to his surprise, drew blood before he concentrated and pulled his power back up where it had dropped from surprise as he grumbled under his breath, "Fucking control."

"They're here for the numbers, you know," Citlali mumbled. "Could send one out to draw them off."

"You do know that you don't have to protect me right?" She asked him and she managed to get the helicopter away from the house.

"If we do, it certainly won't be you." Alex told her. "But they might also be here for me and Evelyn if Hayley has told them what we could do."

"I'll survive if they attempt to riddle me full of holes. You, on the other hand, might not be so lucky. Besides, let me have my moment. I'm a possessive and protective little shit, take it as a package deal or don't take it at all."

"It's a very methodical process. Until they've fully investigated you, they won't dare to make a move on you. Its more than likely they'll come for the numbers and attempt to take reconnaissance on you before coming back."

"I'll take you as you." She told him, kissing his cheek.

"They so much as attempt to touch you, then they will be in seperate pieces in seconds."

"And I'm glad that you will."

"You don't need to do that." Citlali shook her head gently.

"No, but beacause I love you, I will."

Evelyn smiled at him, as she watched the helicopter fall.

"Evelyn, help them." Moira told her as she joined them.

"Moira, they will probably try and kill most of us, to hell if you think that I'm helping them." Evelyn told her.

"Evelyn." The way Moira said her name, had so much authority that Evelyn sighed and went to follow the helipcopter.

"You really don't need to. I-I don't like people dying, even if they are nasty people." Citlali pouted. "B-But, if you have to, don't let me know."

"They could have kids on there, that they use as the fighters. Doesn't hurt seeing if there're any we can help, and to see what information we can get out of some of them." Ephraim rummaged in his pockets before smiling briefly at whatever he found.

Evelyn managed to settle the helicopter onto a cliff edge further down. "There done." She walked inside.

He kissed her forehead.

"Careful," Ephraim called softly, edging so he was by the doorway. The helicopter had been mostly vacated by now but in a corner, wedged under the chairs and trying to hide with each other, were a small girl and boy.

Citlali leaned to kiss his cheek in return.

"I will be." She called back, but she stopped as she got to the stairs as Anjuli stood there, a man in what looked like army gear behind her, his hand over her mouth and a gun at her head. "Moira, get the others out."

Alex smiled slightly.

"Hey now, army boy," Ephraim murmured. "No need to scare the poor lass. How about we swap? You get your number, that darling over there doesn't get traumatised, and you get congratulated for finding number five." He stepped forward, hands held up non-threateningly. "I'll come along all peaceful like."

Citlali absently let her kisses trail across his cheek until she pressed her lips to the corner of his mouth.

"We didn't come for you or the others, this little girl and your friend there are to be taken for research, as well as Havoc and Timekeeper as well as the woman who owns this establishment." As he said it, another man suddeny grabbed Evelyn and dragged Moira out after disarming Ranger and leaving him unconscious.

Evelyn looked at Ephraim. "Find my brother." She mouthed to him. "New Zealand."

He moved to kiss her fully on the lips.

"You think I'm going to let you take them that easily?" Ephraim cooed. "How sweet you think you have a chance. Death lives in this house and she's going to take you apart like tissue paper. You take these people and hell will rain down on your heads because a Number doesn't forget grudges especially when you fuck with their girlfriend and her family." His eyes narrowed and he was suddenly next to the man who had Evelyn, slamming his foot on the mans knee to break his kneecap and stealing the gun while he was at it. His expression was frighteningly blank.

Citlali gently kissed him back, letting her eyelids flutter closed.

He held her gently closer as he kissed her.

The man who had Anjuli suddenly shot him with a tranquliser to knock him out as the man who had Moira done the same to her, and the one who had Anjuli done the same to her, until one went for Evelyn and because of her power, she didn't get knocked out.

Citlali slowly moved to hold onto one of his arms.

"Nice try, but there's a reason why they call me Steel." Ephraim picked up the tranq, twirling it around and showing the bent point of it. "You aren't going to break skin with a pathetic little thing like this. They haven't found a thing on this planet that can hurt me unless I want it to."

"Oh really." He looked at Fletcher. "Take this one back to the hellicopter, then find Havoc."

Evelyn had slowly started moving towards the far doorway, moving so she wouldn't be noticed.

The man looked at Ephraim. "Do you really want to go back to where you were Steel? Because this time we will make it until you die."

He moved to gently lay her back on the bed as his lips pressed kisses down her neck.

Fletcher moved to scoop Anjuli up ever so gently, flinching briefly at the skin contact before he subtly stretched his mind out, nudging her mind to wake her up with a mental whisper of If you hear me, pretend to stay unconscious. I mean you no harm.

"You must be a new one," Ephraim smiled. "I can't die, you see. Little bit of a loophole. I can't get harmed, but I die at least once every year from agonising illnesses. So, what file did they show you? The one where they give you the basics, or the one where they tell you we were made and trained to be weapons? I have an on switch, but we broke out before they gave me an off switch." He checked the gun he still had in his hands. "I might not even use this to kill you, you know. There's always satisfaction to making kills with your bare hands."

Citlali gave a soft noise, moving her hands to slide up his arms before they tangled in his hair as she arched her neck back to give him room.

Evelyn eventually ran for it, and she took the long way to Alex's room.

"The this will be a long time for you won't it." The man sent another one after Evelyn, as he faced Ephraim. "Yeah and we know that Fletcher gave you an off switch like we told him to." He suddenly hit Ephraim with something that shocked him so that the switch turned off. "Now if you don't mind, we will be taking the pregnant girl and Havoc and being on our way. You won't interfer." He suddenly shot him with two tranquilisers.

He moved to kiss down her chest, kissing and sucking her chest.

Ephraim twitched violently at being electrocuted but the tranquillisers bounced off - the first one scraped his arm before he could bring his barrier back up. "The only off switch he gave me was for my power. That's a physical thing. Fightin' is a whole different aspect." He stepped closer. "Now, if you don't mind," he mocked, "I'm going to wring your skinny little neck." He bared his teeth. "And if I were you, I'd stop shooting. If you aren't careful, you might wake Six up."

Citlali jerked underneath him with a loud moan, before she twisted a hand so she could bite against her fingers to stay silent, her other hand tightening in his hair.

He smiled slightly.

((do you want to say that Hayley comes or at least someone that Ephraim is scared of and they get him to stop so that they can take Anjuli, Moira, Alex and Evelyn? So he can't do anything about it?))

Citlali smiled shakily in return at him, still biting down on her fingers because she was afraid of making noise.

Ephraim had started walking quicker towards him before suddenly freezing at seeing something behind the man. Hayley tutted as she walked closer, examining her fingernails, murmuring, "I'm disappointed in you Five. You speak far too much for a situation that warrants action." She looked up and he didn't look away in time before he collapsed, convulsing in pain and all but screaming.
