"No! Leave him alone you bitch!" Evelyn screamed as she was suddenly threw to the floor by the man who grabbed her and before they could shoot her she managed to cover her body in the floor material.

Alex stopped as he heard Evelyn and she looked at Citlali. "Hide in the closet." He told her as he pulled her to the feet.

"Why should I? Number Five is the most fun to put through pain because he isn't used to it." Hayley focused her opinion back onto Ephraim and he suddenly started fitting, fingers scrabbling at the floor like he was trying to find something to hold onto. Hayley was being particularly harsh and not letting him fall unconscious.

Citlali took in a deep breath and tried not to have an anxiety attack, wincing briefly at the pain in her legs as she gripped hold of his arms to stay upright.

Alex gently touched her and the pain started to fade. "Go on, hide in the closet and no matter what, don't come out until I either tell you or someone comes to get you or it's quiet ok?"

"Hayley just leave him alone!" She suddenly made something hit Hayley.

"Can't I just leave to go somewhere else? I could get away if I pushed myself. Pain is easy to ignore."

Hayley winced when she was hit, moving her hand to where she had been hurt. "I'm just going to make it worse the more you struggle and complain."

"No because when Xander and Chiquita come back, they are going to need people to help them."

"I've already said that I would go with you, just stop hurting him Hayley and you can do whatever the fuck you want to me."

"Where are you going? Will you not be around to help?"

"Sure, our current goal is to round up the unregistered, but my personal goal is to gather all the Numbers up again and restart the project. Good fun, you know." Hayley smiled brightly and Ephraim suddenly arched off of the floor with a choked off noise of agony.

"Then I will make it my goal to put you 10 feet under." Evelyn told her. "And trust me, that is fun."

"Hayley we have to go, you can come bac for the numbers another time." The man who had Evelyn told her.

"By the sounds of it no." He kissed her forehead. "But don't worry ok, you just help Xander when he gets here ok?"

"They're scattered and uncoordinated, we might as well pick them up now," she argued back, turning to face him.

Ephraim was gasping for breath on the floor, slowly curling up onto his side.

Citlali smiled weakly, trying to keep the upset off of her face as she nodded and folded herself up small to hide in the corner of the closet.

"We have no time Hayley." The man told her more sternly.

"I love you, remember that." Alex then left her in the room, shutting the door behind him. "Evelyn? Aunt Moira?"

Evelyn heard him. "Alex run!"

"We can make the goddamn time. I've already got Number Five here, Number Seven is the guy you knocked unconscious in the hallway, the space hopping one. Number One is upstairs, Two isn't here but Three, Four and Six are here too. It'll take me like, five minutes to round them up."

"No Hayley!" He made sure she left as a man brought Alex and he dragged Evelyn out of the building.

Hayley pouted as she left, giving a lingering look towards Ephraim before she allowed herself to be led outside.

Evelyn tried to get to Ephraim but the man kept dragging her.

A little later on, Evelyn, Moira, Alex and Anjuli were all in their own seperate well cages really, each one suited so their powers wouldn't work and only Alex and Evelyn were awake, but they couldn't see anything because of how dark the room that they were in was.

"Evelyn, are you still there?" Alex looked into the darkness.

"Yes, I'm still here." Evelyn whispered back.

"How do you feel?" He asked her.

"I don't know..."

"Getting angry won't do anything," Ranger reprimanded Ephraim quietly, watching as the other paced. "Just because you know where they're gonna be, doesn't mean you go rushing in there."

"Don't make me elbow you in the windpipe, because I will, just to make you shut up."

Ranger shrugged. "Just gonna get both of you hurt."

"They're probably torturing her! Stop being so fucking calm!"

Evelyn and Alex both tensed as a door opened letting a bit of light in and a man walked over to Anjuli's cage and gave her something to wake her up before he done the same to Moira. As they woke up, a tall slim woman walked in and she looked at Alex, before her eyes caught onto Evelyn and she looked at the guard. "How far along is she?" She asked since she noticed Evelyn's babby bump.

"Not sure Miss, no one has been able to weaken her yet."

"She looks about 4 months, which should be fine for us to experiment on, we will deal with her soon, but first the youngest." She walked to Anjuli who started screaming and it was so high pitched, that even Evelyn and Alex tensed and covered their ears.

Ranger closed his eyes and let his breath out in a hefty sigh before suddenly grabbing Ephraim as he walked by. Without warning, he jumped the two of them and they appeared just as a flicker of an image in Anjuli's empty cell before he jumped them back again, shoving Ephraim away and sinking back onto the couch. "There. You've seen it. What do you think you can do about that without planning?

Alex looked at the guard. "Just stop hurting her. She's scared. Let her see us and she will stop screaming."

"No way freak." He suddenly punched Alex in the face and he and another guard started to beat him.

"Stop please!" Evelyn nearly screamed at them.

Hayley suddenly leaned around the corner of the doorway, complaining, "Come on guys, what's with the hold up? The equipment isn't gonna stay sterile forever! Let's cut us some kids already! I've got my Number to check on!" Despite being instructed not to, she'd managed to pick one of the Numbers up, though she didn't give any clue as to who it was.

"Just teaching this one his place." He nudged a now unconscious and badly beaten up Alex, before he and the other guard walked to Evelyn's cage and dragged her out.

Hayley clapped her hands. "Chop chop. I want to get done before lunch. Operating Room Two-B please, darling. I've got all my stuff set out ready there."

Evely looked around as they brought her to the room they were meant to put her in and as they put her on the bed, she managed to kick the guard in the face and she tried to touch the wall but nothing happened, instead she just ran for the door.

Hayley let her get within inches of the door before ruthlessly using her power on her, folding her arms quietly.

Evelyn felt it, but she managed to get out of the room and she ran down the corridor.
