Genevieve moved to grip the covers tightly. The lower half of her dress was blood soaked by this point and she asked, stuttering over the pain, "H-Have I-I lost h-him or h-her?"

Once the incense had burnt down, Jean-Claude blew the remaining ember of his out and slowly stood, offering his hand towards Coraline.

A few hours later, Genevieve was just breathing heavily, limp against the bed as she caught her breath. She'd given birth to a baby girl.

Jean-Claude was hovering in the doorway, having heard Genevieve's screaming earlier.

Coraline cleaned the baby up and wrapped her in a warm blanket. "Ots a little girl Genevieve."

"S-She okay?" Genevieve asked, her voice quiet due to her exhaustion.

The baby was silent for a long moment, unmoving before suddenly breathing in deeply as she started to cry.

Genevieve slowly tried to sit herself up without disturbing the baby, who was snuffling softly as if about to start crying.
