Tatia nodded, "That might be a good idea if she doesn't perk up soon." she said as she gently reached her arm out and smoothed down Hopes hair, sighing when the baby didn't even respond to that. "Maybe we bore her." she shrugged, "She only ever seems to be interested in anything when Henrik's around."

"Of course I wanted it," Astrid nodded

"I wasn't sure you would, wasn't sure you'd need me."

Hope just frowned, before making a noise that sounded like a sigh and dropping the toy.

"There's a difference between want and need," Astrid replied with a shrug, "I want you around, of course I want you around, you're my father. I just hope you wanted to come back…"

Henrik frowned at her frown and made a huffing noise in response, glancing around and grabbing his toy once again.

"Of course I would, I'd have given anything to be around you again. And give it time and I can win your mother back, we can be a happy family like we used to be. This is my second chance for that."

Hope just reached up towards her father then.

"We can be happy with you not being with her again, you know.. You could just be nice to her, tolerate Klaus. We could have the next best thing." Astrid whispered.

Klaus picked Hope up gently with a smile.

Hope snuggled up against Klaus, tucking her legs up against his arm and resting her head on his shoulder.

"Why have the next best thing when I can get the best? You're telling me you want Klaus with your mother instead of me?"

"Of course not," She replied with a shake of her head, "I just don't want mother to be proven right, that's all."

Klaus smiled a little bit and watched her before glancing to Tatia.

"I'm assuming she's been badmouthing me to you then?"

Tatia was watching her with a small smile, before glancing back to Henrik.

"Of course she has, I hate it when she does that. Could put up with it before but since that time the  veil was dropped and I saw you again every bad word uttered about you has bugged me so much."

Henrik was just glancing around the room.

Klaus glanced back down at Hope, watching her quietly.

Hope was just perfectly happy cuddling up against Klaus, resting her head on his shoulder she stared ahead as she pressed closer for his warmth.

"Well I'm sure I'll get her back soon enough."

Klaus rubbed his arm gently with his fingertips to warm her up a little bit more, whispering to Tatia, "I think we should bring her to the hospital today, Tat. What's leaving it a while longer going to accomplish? We've left it long enough as it is, if not the hospital then we should have Aria look her over."

Astrid was silent then, not saying a word about it. Changing the subject with a simple, "We need to get you a phone again, a good one this time, I reckon,"

"We can't take her to the hospital, they'll want to run blood tests and other stuff Nik." Tatia pointed out, "I'll phone Aria and see if she can do anything about it."

"I don't need one, I functioned long enough in the old days without one."

"We can compel them not to," Klaus replied with a shrug but just nodded in response to what she said.

"It's not the old days anymore, trust me, they make life a lot easier and you'll look weird if you don't have one." Astrid replied with a quiet laugh.

Adam just rolled his eyes at that, but nodded anyway.

"It's probably nothing, she might just be shy..." Tatia said, sounding like she wanted to convince herself more than anything.

"You'll have to do your best to adapt," She told him with a quiet laugh, "It'll be okay though, I'll help you."

Klaus just sighed, frowning.

Tatia pulled her phone out and sent a quick text, reading the reply and then telling Klaus; "She can come over in a few days, she's away at the moment."

"I'm sure I'll be okay, I'm good at adapting."

Astrid gave a nod, "It'll be easier for you because of when you came back when the veil was down too," she replied.

Klaus just let out a deep sigh, "Fine.."

"Mm, I already have a good idea of how this world works."

Tatia looked between Klaus and the twins, "I'm gonna go make their bottles up for later," she told him, getting up and heading into the kitchen.

As soon as Tatia was out of the room, Vanessa descended on Klaus. "Sooooo," she lilted sweetly, having sucked up to Klaus for the past while. "Do I get the house to myself tomorrow night for your anniversary?"

Astrid just gave a nod, "I'll be right back," she told him, hugging him briefly before heading up the stairs in search of Kol.

Klaus gave a nod, "Not for as long as I had thought though. Only two days and we won't be too far away, only an hour or two out of town."

"Why not longer?" Vanessa frowned, though she seemed happy enough that she was getting the house at all, "And why not that far?"

Kol was in their room, laying on their bed and watching TV.

"I'm worrying about Hope, and your mother is too, we can't go too far away for too long."

Astrid sat herself down on the bed beside him and leant down to press a rep kiss to his lips, moving her hands to cup his face happily.

Kol kissed her back deeply, rolling to pin her to the bed.

Vanessa just nodded at that, "She'll be fine with us, are you leaving later on?"

"Stop being so persistent to make us leave, Nessa." Klaus replied with a sigh, "We're leaving tomorrow morning, will be back the next night do we'll be gone for two days and one night."

Astrid grinned, moving one hand up to tangle in his hair as she murmured against his lips, "You, my husband, are so unbelievably amazing.'

"I know," he replied with a smug grin, his face vamping out slightly as he kissed her deeply again.

Vanessa just nodded at that. "Where you going? Does mom know you're going? Want me to pack a bag if she doesn't?"
