A few days later, Astrid wrapped her arms around Kol from behind and pressed her lips to his cheek. "Time to go to that baseball thing today, right?" she asked excitedly, "Can you tell me the suprise now of do I still have to wait?"

"Maybe there was no surprise and I was just saying it to keep you on your toes." Kol replied with a smirk.

Astrid just gave him a playful pout.

Kol laughed at that, before his smile dropped a little and he said; "Your mom called this morning, wants to see you."

Astrid frowned a bit when his smile dropped, "But we're leaving soon, aren't we? Will there be time for me to see her? What does she want…?"

"She just said she wanted to talk to you." Kol shrugged, "I'm sure we'll have plenty of time."

"Mm, what time are we leaving?" She asked.

"In about an hour."

"I'll just give her a call then," She replied quietly, kissing him on the lips lightly before pulling her phone from her pocket and leaving the room as she phoned her mother.

"Hey Astrid," Tatia greeted happily. "I was hoping you'd call, fancy coming round? Vanessa's out at school, you don't need to worry about her."

"I'm leaving with Kol in an hour, attempting to enjoy baseball for him so we're going to a game."

"Ah, okay then." Tatia sighed, "Just know that you can come round anytime you want to Astrid."

"Mm," Astrid hummed quietly, "Vanessa lives there though, so, I'm not, am I? Not really. I go there and it'll just cause arguments."

Tatia sighed, "You're always welcome Astrid. What I say goes, not your sister."

"It's not worth it if it causes upset though."

Tatia just sighed at that, "Well just know that I want you around, no matter how you and your sister feel towards each other."

"I tried to be kind to her, I give up now." Astrid replied quietly before whispering, "Your welcome here if you miss me. I'm not going there for a while…"

"I'm not excusing what she's done, but she's going through a really hard time at the moment." Tatia frowned, "She wants to be human and is having trouble dealing with the fact she never can be, an to be honest I think she's still smarting from some of the stuff you said to her a while ago, since she's not having any luck in Thr boyfriend department."

"You say that as if I was the one who began to augment that led to that in the beggining. I'm glad she's miserable, it's karma."

"And if you really believed in karma then you'd realise that something crappy is going to happen to you for her to be happy about because you just said that." Tatia sighed before hanging up and slamming the phone down.

"I think I've had enough of my own bad luck," Astrid replied with a roll of her eyes, putting her phone into her pocket before heading back into the room Kol was in.

Kol looked round when she came in.

"I love Astrid but sometimes she can be really fucking immature." Tatia ranted as she went upstairs to Klaus.

"What did she say?" Klaus asked with a quiet laugh, wrapping an arm around her happily.

"That she's glad Vanessa's miserable! If I'd have said something like that to my mother about one of my brothers Id have been hit so hard I'd be feeling it for a week!"
