Sage walked to his side and rubbed small circles on the small of his back soothingly. Remaining completely silent beside him.

"Maybe her phone isn't next to her or is out of charge, don't be too quick to be disappointed in her." Klaus whispered quietly.

"She's perfectly healthy," Leon confirmed quietly.

"What if dad grounds me tonight and won't let me out tomorrow to feed though?" Henrik asked.

Mia pressed herself against him.

"He can't stop you feeding Rik."

Vanessa just nodded her approval, ducking her head to kiss the top of her daughters before moving to lay back down again where she was in less pain, settling the baby on her chest.

"I doubt that," Was all Tatia said in reply.

"I can't believe they brought her back and they didn't even think to mention it to me." Finn said after a few moments.

"He can force me to have bloodbags instead." He pointed out quietly.

Leon watched them both quietly with a affectionate smile.

Klaus just sighed.

"I know, Finn," She whispered softly, repeating gently, "I know." as she kissed the side of his head gently.

Finn just sighed then and shook his head.

"He knows they make you ill, he wont."

After a few minutes Vanessa's eyes slipped closed once more as she fell back asleep. The baby on her chest had fallen asleep too, and both were breathing softly.

"Didn't think he'd ever kill my first girlfriend either but he did." Henrik grumbled.

"Come on, handsome," Sage sighed, pulling him into a gentle hug and playing with his hair to try and soothe him. "What're you thinking?"

Leon smiled and rested his head on Vanessa's gently.

"Want us to stay here while you take the baby home and get her settled?" Tatia asked gently.

"No, you were right. You've done your best with then, you've been selfless and you've given them plenty of chances. It's not fair on you, what they're doing, the trouble they're causing. Not fair on Cameron either, to keep getting his siblings back just for them to change there minds and leave again." Sage comforted softly, "It's been hard for you, but you managed to keep at it for so long. There's a point where you have to stop, a point where if you don't stop it'll push you over the edge."

Henrik shrugged.

"I'd rather not leave…"

Henrik frowned deeply at that, "Is she okay?"

Leon nodded, "I know, it's fine though, thanks,"

"But you need to think of yourself too, of Cam," Sage whispered. "Leave them be a while, until you're feeling a bit better emotionally and if your still up for it then get back in touch with them." she suggested.

Mia leant her head back with a small noise of content.

"Alfdis was right though, I'm pathetic, they're my kids I shouldn't give up on them..."

Tatia nodded. "Want me to go get you anything, a coffee or something?" she asked, directing it at both Klaus and Leon.

"You are not pathetic," Sage replied instantly with a shake of her head, cupping his face in her hands and brushing her thumb against his cheek bone. "You're tired emotionally but you're not pathetic, and you're only so drained because of them. It's your choice at the end of the day, what you want to do, I'll support you either way - you know that."

Henrik just frowned deeply.

"A coffee would be nice," Leon replied, "Can you hunt out a bloodbag or two? For the baby?"

"I'm sure if it were anything really bad mum would've run us by now."

Finn just sighed and shook his head, clearly not knowing what to do with himself.

"If you want my opinion, I think for your emotional benefit you should leave them be for a few months. If they start all of that drama again you're not going to be able to cope, it hurts you when they argue." Sage whispered.

Klaus shook his head, "I'm okay,"

Henrik just nodded.

Tatia nodded then, quietly turning and heading out of the room.

"Want to head home then?"

Klaus got to his feet and followed her.

Hope came out of the alley at that and headed towards their home.

"She can make my brain explode with her own mind. Yes, yes I am intimidated by her. The years have made her hard and our children have made her unforgiving."

"Giving them time alone," Klaus explained, interlocking his fingers with hers and squeezing her hand gently.

Henrik followed close behind.

"Don't let her know that then." Sage whispered, "Do what you think is best for you, not what she tells you to because your intimidated. I'll protect you, my love, I won't let her touch you."

"You'll see her again Rik." Hope told her brother. "That wasn't goodbye forever."

"She's a witch, literally, you can't protect me."

"Or maybe I just don't like seeing her in such a bad way, constantly. She hadn't been healthy for a long time now…"

Henrik just shrugged. "You don't know that."

"I do, I know either you'll cave and contact her or it'll be the other way round."

"You kill her and I lose the twins forever."

"If she pushes you over the edge the twin, Cameron and me as well as the rest of the family will lose you forever. Even if it is only emotionally." She pointed out quietly. "Just don't do something you don't want to do because you're scared of her, my love."

"It's not the point." Klaus muttered.

"You say that as if it was either of our choices to finish…. She said she'd contact me when she was somewhere safe but I - Think that's it for us now. Mum and dad hate her… we'd never be able to be together."

"Maybe it wasn't meant to be, then." Hope said quietly.

"I won't. I can't, since I have no idea what I'm going to do anyway."

"Feels like it was. It's really pathetic though because they don't even know her so they have no actual reason to hate her."

She sighed and nodded, leaning forward to press her lips to his in a sweet kiss.

"We fear and we hate hunters. I suppose all they were trying to do in the end is protect us."

Tatia slipped into a storeroom a few seconds later, coming out after a minute or so with a couple of blood bags stuffed into her bag.
