((He was either gonna have one from the one who changed him at college before he never went back - drama then, for when it/he/she follows him back or, she'd had an afterschool club or something. Whichever seems better))

"She does. I wasn't here for four months and you two have a bond that I'll never have with her because of that." Vanessa whispered, simply heading upstairs then.

Karina started crying when she was left, banging on the bars of her crib and wailing for attention.

"Go to her, I'm fine." Vanessa told him quietly from where she was sat on the bed.

Vanessa just sighed then, putting her chin on her knees.

((Best and I discussed it - afterschool club? Not too early, but late enough for the sun to just have set?))

"I'll never have with her what you do though, because I wasn't around..." Vanessa whispered, voice thickening as she spoke, clearly quite upset about the situation.
