Leon reached over and grabbed a tea towel, wiping her chin with a smile. Obviously having forgotten about his food completely.

Karina grinned and grabbed at the tea towel, tugging it towards her.

"I didn't cook your food for it to go to waste." Vanessa chuckled, "Eat it, I can deal with Karina."

Tatia just nodded, holding him close.

Best you forgot me

"I'll eat it in a few seconds, Ness,"

"I'm sorry for being moody recently," He whispered.

"It doesn't matter now, all that matters to me is that you're happy."

"Karina will still be here when you've finished eating you know."

"Mm, I know,"

Henrik just gave a small nod.

Vanessa just laughed a little at that, "See, the look you have on your face now is the one I was talking about."

"I mean it, I know you thought I was trying my hardest to make you miserable but I was just trying to make you safe."

Leon laughed a little bit at that, "I don't have a look on my face though, I'm just smiling

"It's about the eyes, lion, all about the eyes." Vanessa laughed, kissing his forehead before getting up and going to the sink.

Leon just laughed a bit and shook his head.

"But she isn't."

"But the possibility was there, Henrik." Tatia sighed, pulling away. "Let's not argue about that now, mm? Your father's agreed to give her a chance."

"Looks like you have daddy wrapped around your little finger Kari," Vanessa laughed as she sat back down next to the high chair and used a wipe to wash down Karina's face.

Henrik just hesitated before giving a nod.

"She doesn't have me wrapped around her little finger." Leon denied with a laugh.

"I'll see the both of you later on at dinner then," Tatia hummed, going to the doorway and turning back a little, "Oh, and Henrik, don't mention the fact she's been staying here." she added, before heading down.

"Yeah she does," Vanessa laughed, "Just as I had my dad wrapped around my little finger, still do. It's the curse of being a parent I'm afraid."

"I won't," Henrik replied before pulling his phone from his pocket and calling Dakota.

Leon just laughed a bit.

"You gonna eat now? If you're going to be running around after Karina all day you need food in you."

"Hey," Dakota answered almost instantly. "Everything okay?"

"I suppose," He hummed, getting to his feet and going to reheat his food again.

"My dad'll give you a chance, come eat dinner with us tonight?" Henrik told her instantly, the happiness clear in his voice.

"Remember, wrapped around your little finger." Vanessa whispered to Karina teasingly as she took her empty bowl and spoon away from her to go wash it up.

Dakota hesitated a little, letting out a deep breath before answering. "Yeah, I'll come round."

Leon sat at the table and ate silently.

"Thank you… this could finally work Kota, finally."

"I'll reserve judgment on that just yet, but hopefully..."

Vanessa watched him quietly once she'd finished with the washing up.

"It's pretty likely now though,"

"What you looking at, butterfly?"

"Well we'll see, mm?"

"You," Vanessa replied quietly.

"Mm," Henrik hummed.

"Why?"

"Because I can't get over how amazing you are." Vanessa whispered, leaning over and kissing his cheek.
