"But she was human because I asked her to be! She can't come back because I asked her to be human! I asked her to be human because your pathetic cousin cancelled on me and -" She buried her face in his neck then and simply screamed, frustrated.

"It's not in the area, it's in Seattle." Kol sighed.

"It's just grandma said something about making arrangements for me and Karina, that's all."

"I heard." Dakota whispered, moving to sit next to Henrik and hugging him tightly. "I'm so sorry Rik."

Kira just shook her head again at that, moving to hug her father to stop herself crying.

Caleb: sighed rubbing her back not knowing what more he could say

Henrik wrapped his arms around her and hid his face in her neck, trembling a little bit against her and whispering, "No luck. We never get any luck in this family…"

Astrid frowned deeply at that and just wrapped her arms around him in a hug. "She might come 'round, pretty boy, eventually."

He shook his head, "She was going to phone to make arrangements for your mums funeral with me." he explained quietly.

Klaus hugged his youngest daughter tightly.

Mia just clung onto him as she cried.

"I'm so sorry sweetheart." Dakota soothed, rubbing his back to comfort him.

"Will I be allowed to go to that? I wasn't allowed to go to my dad's funeral..."

Kol just shrugged, "You don't need to worry about that, your sister's just died."

"But - but she said she was gonna take me shopping with Hope," Kira cried.

Caleb: smoothed her hair down a bit

Charlotte smiled more at her niece. "I can watch her while you run your errands."

"Thanks Sis." He got up and left, heading to find Jeremy.

Jeremy was at the Grill, working.

Around four months later, during the middle of the night/early in the morning Vanessa was sat on the bed next to Leon, as he slept, casually chatting away even though she assumed she couldn't be heard. Around half way through her self conversation, she became visible and tangible, though she didn't realise it herself. "-and I didn't tell you that often enough, but you've done great without me, my lion, I've seen how much you've been hurting but you're doing great my love."

Tatia was laying next to Klaus, holding onto him quietly as she did most nights when he needed her, softly kissing the top of his head every now and then.

Damon walked in and he sat at the bar. "Well, brother-in-law, what can I do to get a drink in here?"

((If we're skipping Beth then have Trin and Mal had their baby?))

Leon was wide-awake and just staring at the spot Vanessa used to lay as he normally did until he was too exhausted to stay awake any longer. Having convinced himself he had to stay up as late as he could to make sure Karina wouldn't cry or Holly wouldn't waking up crying for Vanessa like she initially had. When he heard her voice he blinked a few times and lifted his gaze up, his eyes widening a little bit at the sight of her. Just staring at her.

Klaus was dozing lightly beside her, though it was an uneasy sleep. Vanessa dying having devastated him to the point he initially had turned his emotions off for about a month until Kol, Finn and Rebekah had managed to make him turn them back on.

"Give me a lot of money, most likely," Jeremy laughed

"Ah, I allowed you my sister, surely that means I get it for free." He told him playfully. "Anyway, if you go on your break now, I would like to speak to you."

Tatia just watched him sleep, glad he'd managed to drift off at last.

"I'd give anything to hug you and my parents and everyone else, tell you all I'm okay and you're doing fine without me… especially you, you've done great with our little Karina, she's going to be a great little girl with you as her daddy. And you're doing so well by Holly too, I couldn't thank you enough if I were around to do it." Vanessa carried on, completely oblivious that he'd fixed his attention to her.

((Yeah. We never named her though did we?))

Trinity: it was about a week after the birth of their daughter and she was sat in a rocking chair during the middle of the night just watching the baby sleep

"Butterfly…" Leon whispered after a few moments hesitation, lifting his hand up to rest on top of hers gently. Eyes widening in shock when he actually felt her there and realised it wasn't just his imagination, sitting himself up a little bit.

Klaus blinked his eyes open not too long later when there was a banging sound in the hallway.  Henrik having just snuck back in pulling a human behind him for Dakota to feed on.

"Ah, I allowed you my sister, surely that means I get it for free." He told him playfully. "Anyway, if you go on your break now, I would like to speak to you."

Vanessa gasped a little at that, cutting off what she was saying and looking down at him. "Leon? You can see me?" she whispered, leaning down and running her hand across his face.

Tatia sighed deeply at that, having just gotten off to sleep herself. "Shh sweetheart, just go back to sleep."

Jeremy just sighed and nodded, motioning for him to head into his office as he got someone to take over for him. Getting Damon a drink at the same time.

 "Must be dreaming, but yeah, I can." Leon whispered quietly, leaning his head towards her touch. "But your probably just a figment of my imagination."

"Should probably find out what that was. Check on the kids." Klaus whispered.

---

Malvolio rested his head on top of hers and watched the baby with a smile.

"The kids are fine, but you're not. You need your sleep."

"No, no I'm real." Vanessa hummed, leaning down and kissing him softly, grinning when she could feel it before getting up off of the bed and rushing into Karina's room, picking her up from the crib and holding her tightly then heading into Holly's room and sitting by her, gently pulling her up so she was hugging both her daughters. "My girls, my sweet sweet angels." she whispered, happy tears running down her cheeks.

Damon joined him in his office. "Jeremy, how are things going with you and my sister?"

"I'm fine, Tat," Klaus sighed, "Just fine,"

Leon blinked a few times before sitting himself up slowly, getting to his feet and wandering into Holly's room. Watching from the doorway quietly.

"Perfectly fine, why?"

"No you're not, I can see you slipping again, your emotions wearing thin." Tatia said gently. "I know a decent nights sleep wont bring our daughter back but it will make it easier to cope."

"Mummy!" Holly exclaimed when she realised what was going on, hugging her mother tightly.

"I'm here, I'm here." Tatia grinned as she wiped her eyes with the back of her hands, grinning as she hugged her back with one arm and gently bounced a confused looking, but silent so far Karina. "I'm here."

"Just thought I'd ask, she's watching Isabelle and I didn't know if you were ok with that since we all know how you feel about children." He sipped his drink.
