The Queen Is After Me

"He went out," Fleet told her from the kitchen. He was eying the casserole untrustworthily. "For...reasons."

"Keagan does that some time." Daniel nodded to himself.

"Keep an eye on Dan for me… I'll be back in a bit." She frowned, heading out without another word and just going to search for Keagan.

((Skip a bit? Say she can't find him and goes back to the house and he shows up bout half hour later?))

When Keagan would of gotten back, April would be sat on the sofa, her head resting on her knees as she stared at some rubbish movie she had put on.

Keagan came back almost an hour after April had. The only sign he gave was the quiet clattering in the kitchen, considering Daniel was laying on the floor in the same room as April, and Fleet was napping in the armchair.

April yawned quietly before getting to her feet and wandering into the kitchen. "Wish you'd stop wandering off Keag," she whispered, "You could at least say bye first, you know…"

"Old habits die hard. I forget you aren't like Fleet, to know when I'm gone without having to check, to automatically know I've said my 'be back soons'." Keagan tested the casserole absently, before mumbling, "Ten more minutes..."

April just gave a small nod before brushing get fingers to the back of his hand gently, "Where'd you go off too, anyway?"

"Just a walk, to clear my head." Keagan flipped his hand to slowly slip his fingers in between hers when he felt her touch.

April just sighed softly and gave a nod, taking a step to his side and leaning into him a little bit. Squeezing his hand gently.

"I'm not used to having to tell people I'm going quite yet."

"I know, I know. Don't worry."  She whispered, leaning up to kiss his lips gently.

Keagan kissed her back gently before leaning away and checking on the casserole again.

"You've done well, you know, getting used to physical contact. You still have a bit to go but…" She shrugged, "I'm proud of you, I guess,"

"Its kinda hard not to get used to when you always come close." Keagan offered her a weak smile.

"Mm," She hummed with a quiet laugh, "Just tell me if I'm ever rushing you too much, okay? I'll take it down a peg."

"I do feel rushed, just a little..." Keagan mumbled. "A decade of no touch, to suddenly a lot of contact...I'm also so tense and nervous."

"Okay," She whispered softly, taking a step away from him then and mumbling. "All on your terms now, m'kay? I just want you happy, really…"

"I am comfortable, just...reaching my boundaries."

She gave a small nod, "Like I said, it's all on your terms now."

"Please don't think you've done anything wrong I just..." Keagan shrugged, trying to explain before pulling the casserole out. "Can you get plates?"

"Just it's a huge change for you and you never thought it'd ever happen. With time it'll be just fine but it'll take a long while." April finished his sentence with a shrug, making a small movement with her wrist to make water open the cupboard and carry out some plates.

"Could you maybe set the table with the plates and cutlery? I'll bring this through..." Keagan hesitated before mumbling, "Salad or breadsticks...?"

"Sorry for being grumpy…" April grumbled, brushing her fingertips over his knuckles in apology before doing as he asked and calling through, "Salad,"

"You aren't really being grumpy...not really." Keagan set the casserole aside to cool a little as he rummaged in the fridge for salad stuff.
