Tatia just gestured for Mia to go on ahead. "You okay Rik?" she asked quietly.

"Ah," Tatia frowned, "It's not nice, but it'll get better once Ellie starts sleeping through the night." she assured, leaning over and ruffling his hair. "How've you been then? You and Kota have been like hermits the few weeks or so since you brought Ellie home." she laughed.

Dakota's eyes widened a little at seeing Mia, though she relaxed once Mia spoke. "Oh, you're Rik's sister, right?"

Mia gave a nod in response to that, "Mhmm, had a day off and I figure I need to get involved with everyone a bit more again." she explained quietly before asking, "May I hold her?"

"Because we've been sleeping whenever we haven't been tending to Ellie, that's why," He replied with a quiet laugh, replying, "Been fine though,"

"Um-" Dakota said quietly ,looking down at Ellie and realising she'd fallen asleep. "Sure." she nodded as she gently took the bottle away and put it down, wiping Ellie's mouth before standing up and handing her over.

"If it ever gets too much just let me know and me and your dad can take her so you can have a night off."

"You'll have to ask Kota.. I've suggested it a few times but she's never seemed keen, just waved it away." Henrik replied quietly with a shake of his head, "I could do with a day off just to catch up on sleep to be honest."

Mia smiled and took her from her, cradling Ellie gently musing to Dakota, "She's lovely,"

"I know the feeling, everytime someone suggested to take one of you lot off my hands I shuddered at the thought of letting you go, even for a night."

Dakota smiled a little and nodded at that, "She's perfect." she said proudly.

"I don't particularly want it either but I think we'll be better with her if we just get a nights rest, both of us being this exhausted constantly isn't good for her in the long run... not a nice environment."

"If you don't want me to have her overnight at mine and your gathers house, I'll stay here for a few nights, I'll get up with her so you two don't have to... Or maybe, if you ask Mia, she would. She's wanting a baby of her own right now, she could do with some hands on experience."

"I know," Dakota nodded, "Rik wants another already though," she grimaced, "I'm happy with just her."

"It's kind of a family thing the want to have a few, I think, get it from mum. It's a nice thought, having a little mini you that'll love you unconditionally, even if they don't openly show it in later years. Even if you screw up they'll still love you, even if you feel all alone they'll still love you. It's a lovely thought." She whispered quietly.

"One child can do all that just as much as ten can." Dakota pointed out. "I know Rik doesn't want her to feel lonely but she has her cousins to grow up with."

Henrik hugged her back before asking, "How have you been?"

"Good, me and your dad were having a discussion earlier, about maybe me and him renewing our vows, since we only had Vanessa and Astrid there the first time we got married."

"I never really wanted one baby. I wouldn't change having Ellie for the world, now I have her, but I think having another would just take the attention away from her. I don't want her to feel like you lot did when you were growing up, that you were being replaced. Rik told me all about it."

"Mm, it's something for you and him to discuss really," Mia replied with a small shrug.

"Anything else been happening? Something always happens." Henrik mused.

"Not really." Tatia shrugged, not wanting to add more reasons for not sleeping to Henrik's list. "Mia wants to make more of an effort with everyone, get back in the loop."

"I've told him no for the time being, and the more and more tired we get the less he suggests it."

Mia just laughed a little bit at that, "I can imagine."

"No idea, I think she's unhappy with that boy but she doesn't want to leave him. I think she's frightened of being on her own."

"I love her but sometimes when she wont sleep I wish she had a mute button or something." Dakota frowned..

"Mm," Henrik hummed quietly, "Why would she be frightened of being on her own though? She isn't really incapable of being independent."

"If you ever need a baby sitter I could give you my number," She offered quietly.

"I think it's because she's been with that boy since she was a teenager, she's never lived on her own really, she moved in with him straight from living with us."

"It's fine, we can cope." Dakota mumbled a little defensively.

"Not saying you can't at all, it's just if you ever want a days peace and quiet I wouldn't mind. She's my niece after all,"

"She's fussy, doesn't really settle for anyone. I'd feel bad offloading her on you when I knew all she was going to do is cry."

"Mm, I think she should leave him though. But she wont, I know she wont."

"Course not, maybe leave it be though. If you want her to finish with him she'll probably just latch onto him more, that forbidden love conc-" He cut off with a yawn then.

"Well. The offers there."

"Mm, it's not forbidden though, just unwanted." Tatia wrinkled her nose, laughing a little at his yawn.

"Thanks."

Dakota just watched Ellie sleep then.
