Mia just shook her head and moved away then, repeating, "I'm going home."

Holly whispered her goodbye one more time before whispering an apology to Jeremy and handing their son back and holding onto Jeremy quietly.

"No, don't. Go see Holly or the baby... Don't go..."

"Have to go look after Jasper," Mia mumbled, "I left Eve with him since Cal went to Alec's and Eve probably wants to go and meet this boy she's made friends with so…. I have to go."

Jeremy just trembled as he took him back, studying him silently.

Astrid kissed him on the lips gently in return.

"I can't help it," Alfdis whispered.

Astrid deepened the kiss slightly before pulling away and leaning down to pick up her phone, "Maybe we should just go and visit Adam... I- Don't like them yelling at me over the phone."

"Yes it is, so wrong... It feels right though."

Vanessa sighed and headed into the room again, sitting beside Holly and kissing her cheek.

"Because it's right. He could be a farmer, a fisher, a healer, a builder, a hunter. All of which mean he would be here with you. But he's not any of those, hes a raider, the one job that means he's away for so long, he chooses to be away." Finn whispered as he ran his thumb down her cheek.

Jeremy wrapped an arm around her and held her close, asking hesitantly, "Should we go meet our daughter?"

Alfdis just laughed softly and rested her head on his shoulder, "Thank you.."

Jeremy hesitated, kissing the baby's forehead and whispering, "I love you son, I hope you're okay, whereever you are.. Goodbye..." before glancing to Holly in silent question in case she wanted to hold him again.

"No one likes him," Astrid told Dexter quietly, "I've told you a little about it before but, seriously, no one likes him. They despise him."

Alfdis tilted her head to the side to give him more room as she made a noise of content.

Holly took their baby from him, cuddling him close and kissing his head. "Tell your grandpas an your grandma to take really good care of you up there, okay? I love you, I'll always love you. Goodbye baby, goodbye." He whispered, kissing his forehead again before handing him over to her mother and leaning against Jeremy heavily.

"He doesn't seem bad..."

Finn kissed down her chest.

"It's frustrating because most of them hold what he done to my mother against him, when it was back in Viking times. They don't actually know him, they've never tried to know him. They just hate him, wish him death and suffering. He's never done a thing to them, to any of them and whenever I defend him I'm the awful person. I've had to plead for them not to kill him so many times."

"Lets go see our daughter..."

Alfdis hummed in content.

Upstairs working on the nursery was Caleb.

Inside the neonatal unit, their daughter was in an incubator, hooked up to wires and machines as her chest heaved with breath.

"He was harsh... But he was my dad and I loved him."

"You can get to know me..."

"Mine beat my mother, black and blue. Screwed her up mentally... I uh, I even have a scar on me - if you haven't noticed it, when I was little dad caught me messing around with swords and cut me with them to teach me not to play with weapons. It worked.. that's the only time he ever hurt me."

"Wasn't your sister going to be a twin - Mia?" Leon asked, wrinkling his nose, "She doesn't seem to have that, so maybe this baby won't. I don't think there is anything to worry about."

Jeremy placed Holly on a chair beside the incubator silently.

"I intend too," Alfdis whispered.
