Kol tensed a little at that. "Isn't he Kiras brother in law?"

"Kira and Scottie aren't married so not technically." Dex replied.

"When can we hold our baby? What's wrong with her?!" Holly asked a nurse when one came in.

"Her lungs aren't strong enough to breathe for her. We've given her some steroids and depending how well he reacts to them you can hold her in a few days."

"You shouldn't speak to your mother like that. She's sacrificed an awful lot for you and your brothers. She deserves happiness." Dex said quietly.

"Don't chastise my son. I guarantee he's older than you." Kol snapped.

"What are her chances for making a full recovery?" Holly asked after hesitation.

"Almost guaranteed."

"Adam..." Olivia frowned.

Zosia sighed and followed her brother.

"So you did." Holly nodded, relaxing greatly and wiping her eyes. "She's going to make it."

Holly waited until they were alone before slitting her wrist with her teeth and stepping up, disconnecting and dripping the blood into the tube that was currently feeding the baby.

"I'm sorry," Astrid whispered with a sigh, taking Dexter's hand and heading out, gently tugging him behind her though he dropped his hand quickly, assuming he'd follow her out.

Jeremy didn't take his eyes off the baby.

"M'tired." Holly yawned, snuggling against him and forcing her eyes open. "Can't sleep until I know for certain she's gonna be okay..."
