He interlocked his fingers with hers and squeezed her hand.

Laney took the tiniest steps forward, not letting go of his hand.

She took another small step forward.

He grinned, slowly letting go of her hand so he could swim beneath the water.

After about an hour, Apollo had managed to coax her into the deeper part of the water and was splashing her playfully, laughing.

Even though he bad managed this and she was currently laughing, shielding her face with one hand and splashing him with the other, she made sure to keep within arms reach of him.

He backed away from her splashes, tripping on a rock beneath his foot and falling backwards into the fast flowing water.

She laughed for a moment thinking he was playing around as they had been.

He surfaced after a moment, treading water against the current with a frown. Managing to grab onto a rock to keep himself in one spot

"Apollo!" She called to him. "Reach for my hand and I'll pull you back over!"

Apollo grimaced and shuffled over to the edge of the rock; reaching a hand out to grab hers.

She inched forward slowly, stretching her arm out to grab hold of his hand.

He grabbed a hold of her hand.

She held onto his tightly, trying to inch backward and pull him with her.

As soon as he let go of the supporting rock, the river would of swept him away.

Her eyes widen in surprise, not expecting that the current was that strong. "Apollo!," she tried to swim along the calmer side attempting to grab at him every chance she could though struggle a great deal as the water became deeper.

Apollo was mostly dragged under the water, occasionally surfacingm and coughing out water when he did.

It wasn't long before the current dragged her out further causing her to immediately panic and struggle.

"Laney," He called with a cough, finally managing to grab onto a branch and lift himself out of the water slightly. "Look out! Careful of that rock!"
