"It's what happens when we keep them in cells like we did."

"You should jump down into the water.... find out if theres any chance of saving her. It's not fair she was just trying to keep the younger one safe and the younger one didn't seem to care. No one seems to care about anyone else on this ship.. please, even if it was only one day... please show me that someone other than Killain is a decent person."

"You think Killian is a decent person?" Viggo asked. "His heart is just as black as anyone else's, but I would go but I can't abandon my captain."

"He's put me before Amora... he's the only one who has ever put anyone before her, even if he can be infuriating, so yes he's decent, because he isn't selfish... I spoke to that Siren, a week after the younger one forgot she was down there. She was heartbroken, said she'd cared for the younger one for six or seven years and that she was her world but it obviously meant nothing, she said she'd thought at least the man who she'd spoken to might of been down by then. She said she was scared, and hungry, and then she cried." Maria swallowed thickly, "Amora and Luke took her away from her family, took the one person she had left away too, and then everyone left her to rot. How can you seem so uncaring?"

"I went to see her." He told her. "She knew why I didn't visit her, Iris and I have been working on getting her out." He told her.

"You didn't, don't lie to me, she told me you hadn't!" Maria snapped, "If you'd of been working on getting her out then she wouldn't be half dead, she'd be like the brat. The one thing I have learnt from this shit crew is that unless you're up Amora's ass you may aswell be dead because you'd get treated better. Can't wait until I'm off it, never letting my future kids anywhere near the damn ocean." she muttered before going below deck to hers and Killain's quarters, putting her head in her hands.

Killian was already in their room cleaning his sword and he didn't bother to look up when he heard the door he knew it was her.

"Killian might have something to say about that." Viggo reminded her.

"It's not even the ship... or the ocean. I like them it's... No one listens to me, Killain." Maria whispered, voice shaking, "No one ever even tries to see my side other than you, and it's frustrating. It frustrates me how people don't respect me, how Amora always snaps at me other something that never has anything to do with what I just said, how..." she swallowed thickly, "...how people make connections with others, and then at the click of Amora's fingers suddenly that bond is tethered and only one person is ever hurt. The only people on this ship that get respect is you, Luke and Amora and I understand that, I do I just... everyones voice matters, everyone matters that's how you stop hate.. by listening to people as individuals. I've never been a part of this ship, those sirens were only seen as slabs as meat where as one sucked up to Amora and the other one rotted to death without the other one caring, that sixteen year old they threw down there; the boy, no word of him since. I- Really upsets me."

He got up and walked to her. "I was wondering when all this was going to come out." He told her as he slid his arms around her holding her close. "I kno its been hard for you, you are the reason I took the permanent leave, you're not happy here because of all the reasons you said." He told her. "But none of that has to matter now, in a few hours you won't be on here and it will just be us, try and not think about he people on the ship anymore and try and concentrate on that, okay?" He wanted to see her happy, he knew everything about how his sister ran the shop bothered her but he was trying to steer her away from that to keep her even remote

"It does matter because it makes us argue! Because you're the only one who listens to me so I take it out on you and that's my fault but if people actually noticed I was there-" She cut off with a sob.

He held her to him, pressing a lingering kiss to the top of her. "Okay definitely don't worry about the arguing."

"But it matters, people not respecting me matters!" 

(( Be cute if it actually makes her really angry and Killain like jumps to her defence. Maybe not against Amora but he could ask what brought this on and then he gets into a fight with Viggo for upsetting her and they both get hurt? If Viggo falls over board, Naia could save him when the rest of the pod go to attack him? And then generic Maria/Killain cuteness ))

Killian looked at her. "I know it matters." He told her. "Now sit down with me and tell me what caused all this to come out."

"The older siren looked half dead, so I went to tell Viggo... He didn't seem to care and I told him that wasn't fair, it all escalated from that when he brought you into it... saying you had a black heart and stuff." She trembled.

Killian looked at her, it was hard to tell if he was angry at Viggo or not, before he looked at her. "Stay here a minute?" Before she could say anything, he got up and headed out to the top deck where he found Viggo putting away the ropes for the sails.

Maria swallowed thickly, waiting a minute or two before getting to her feet and heading up onto deck.

By the time she got up there, Killian and Viggo were at each other's throats and suddenly Viggo took out his sword about the run it through Killian who it got stuck with Killian's hook and as Killian disarmed him, Viggo lost his footing and fell overboard into the ocean below.

"Killain? Are you okay?" Maria called quietly, jogging over.

Within moments of Viggo hitting the water, the sirens began to gather. Grabbing his ankles in attempts to pull him over and snapping their teeth at him

Viggo tried to fight them off but Killian had his sword, so he was powerless against the sirens.

Killian dropped the sword with a shake of his hook and he watched it clatter to the floor before he looked at her. "I'm fine."

"What the fuck happened?" Amora demanded as he walked onto the deck.

Maria slid her arms around Killain's torso, pressing her lips to his cheek gently. Visibly tensing at Amora's voice and stepping closer to his side.

One of the sirens dug her teeth into his leg as he was dragged even further under the water, though within only moments backed off as Naia swam over quickly and shoved her away. Slipping a purple flower into his hand which made the others dispurse, she helped him back up to the surface.

Viggo took a deep breath as he reached the surface and he looked at her. "You saved me?" He seemed oblivious to the fact that he was now bleeding from his leg.

Amora looked at the rest of the crew. "Well?" She asked.

Killian slid his arm around Maria. "Nothing but a dispute, Viggo treated Maria with disrespect, I confronted and the rest is history."

"And you didn't help me." Naia whispered, "You can't be dinner before you've seen your brother again..." swallowing thickly she took the back of his hand and lifted it up so he could see the flower in his palm. "..and now you never will be food, not for one of my kind."

"How much longer is it till we get to land?"

"About two hours." Amora told them. "The wind isn't with us right now, but according Kale it should be changing as the sun gets to the midday point."

He looked at her. "I tried to come and see you." He told her and in truth he had tried, but every time he went someone would call him for a task that needed completing or she had been asleep. "I wanted to see you, I wanted to know that you were alright, but Iris told me that she went down to check you and you were okay."

"I didn't see Iris since she got taken from me... Since she left me." Naia whispered, voice barely audible. "I wasn't alright.. Still not. Everything hurts physically, all I want to do is hold Iris but she's giving me the cold shoulder. Doesn't matter though, need to get you to land... need to bandage up your leg."
