He got onto the shore and he limped towards a dirt trail, following it, though he ended up leaving a trail of blood as they came to a log cabin type house next to a large lake that they could see connected to the river a few miles away.

Naia jogged up to his side, her arm sliding around his shoulders to help support his weight.

He looked at her when they got to the house. "Welcome to my family home." He told her and he got over to the front door that overlooked the lake and he found a key under the porch, using it to unlock the door and let them in. Inside the house was pretty simple, all furniture was wood and wool cushioned, a large fireplace in the corner with a staircase that obviously led to bedrooms.
