Creatures of the Dark

Max slept until later in the morning.

When he woke he'd see that she was still asleep only now she had moved over a bit.

Max woke up and he looked at her smiling slightly and he managed to get up without startling her and he left her note telling her that he had gone downstairs to see Alice so that he could move properly etc like he had told her a few hours ago and he didn't want to wake her.

She woke up shortly after rubbing at her eyes. Seeing the note she went transparent and made her way to find him.

Max was leaning against the cupboards in the kitchen, his eyes closed, Alice stood. Ext to him preening her wings. "How does it feel?"

"Much better." He told her. "Thanks Alice."

"Max....Are you sure you don't want to know what happened to you?

She appeared at his side still completely transparent, the only thing giving her away was her fingers taking hold of the hem of his shirt. It was her way of telling him she was there.

Max noticed, but he didn't draw attention to her. "I don't really want to know yet Alice, but when I do I'll come and find you."

Alice nodded. "Well I'm going to go and get ready for my run and try and drag Frankie along, you and your friend should come, I'd love to meet her." Alice told him as she left the room.

She very gently leaned against him watching Alice but mainly she was focused on Max.

Frankie was upstairs getting dressed for the day.

"Do you want to meet Alice?" He asked her.

Alice ran up the stairs where she appeared behind Frankie and she playfully pushed him back onto the bed.

She shrugged.

Frankie flopped face first onto the bed but he rolled over pulling her down on him.

She laughed as she landed on him and she moved so that she was looking down at him, her knees either side of his waist. "Good morning."

Max nodded. "If you ever want to, then you can always see her alone."

"Morning," he laughed resting his hands on her hips.

She shook her head right away.

"Okay, well I could come with you then."

Alice smiled at him. "You weren't in bed this morning, where did you go off to?"

"Yes please."

"Went for a walk, that's all."

"This early?" She asked, looking at him curiously.

He nodded, "You choose when."

"I couldn't sleep."

She nodded. "If you're there I'll be okay."

She moved a hand through his hair.

He nodded. "Alice will also be able to help you find answers about your death, if you want them."

She shuddered shaking her head. "No..."

He smiled at her.

"Okay, believe me, I don't want to know about mine either."
________

She smiled back, moving down to kiss his lips gently.

Meanwhile, in the middle of town, Mathew had just got back to his and CJ's apartment from taking a run.

Rylee hugged his arm.

He kissed her back softly.

She was just getting out of the shower.

He walked in after a few minutes and he looked around for her, before he sat on their bed waiting.

He slid an arm around her.

She kept the kiss.

Frankie deepened the kiss.

She smiled at him.

CJ walked in and grinned seeing him.

He smiled back at seeing her.

Alice matched her kiss to his.
____

He smiled back.

She flopped on the bed beside him.

He kept the kiss.

He smiled watching her.

She kept the kiss for as long as he did.
