“Is that your command your highness?” She asked him. “Because last time I checked we were equal, hence you can’t make orders for me to obey.”

She would have said more but a guard came to her room letting himself in but he stopped at seeing Azriel, and he seemed confused. “The king wants to see you both.”

Rose held her hands out after stuffing her daggers into her boots and the guard wrapped her hands in chains like they normally did, before she was led after Azriel and the guard down to the throne room.

Once inside she was led to stand in front of two thrones, the gold in the room reflecting the light so it almost blinded Rose and she stumbled a few times before she was made to kneel in front of the king and queen.

“Nice to see that you are both taking your duties seriously.” The king commented though he still held some distaste towards Rose as she leant into Aziel to get her balance. “You will be pleased to know that I have made a decision in regards to you two.”

“You two will be married by the next full moon.” The king told them. “Perfect time to provide us with grandchildren.”

The queen looked to him in shock before she noticed how Rose tensed next to Azriel. “My king, are you sure rhat is wise? We will have the most powerful demon in the world up here at the time where Demons are at their best.”

“Also they’re most fertile so shut up.” He sneered to her. “If Damian wants his daughter to live he will obey our laws.”

“My father won’t come.” Rose told him. “He wouldn’t put him through this for your demoralisation.” She warned him. “Neither will I, send me home.”

“Do you truly find my son that repulsive?” He mocked, looking Azriel over. 

“On the contrary your son is an astonishing man, he’s smart and kind and handsome, he doesn’t need to threaten people to ear their respect.” She told him. “All because you don’t recognise that in him doesn’t mean others don’t.”

“You should listen to him Rose, or it won’t just be his life I make worse.” He told her.

Rose looked to Azriel and she saw his face so she nodded to him gently sliding her pinky to wrap around his, a silent apology.

“You two will marry tomorrow night, and your father will come here to give you to us.” The king told her. “Now, guards take her to her rooms, lock her in there and give me back her daggers.”

“Do that then bring yourself back here, you and I need to talk.” The king warned him.

Rose looked to him.

Rose looked to the guards and they handed Azriel the chain for her cuffs.

Rose looked to him. “Azriel…I don’t understand.”

“You don’t deserve this either.” She told him, grabbing his hand. “Come with me, please, my father can protect both of us.”

“Then we wait until we can go together.” She told him. “I’m not leaving you here to get hurt anymore.”

“I’m not leaving you.”

“Well I’m glad you’re that stupid.” The king told them as he appeared from the door. “You disappoint me Azriel.” He told him.

“Shame you have to have your wife take the punishment as well.” He clicked his fingers and two guards grabbed Rose the other took the daggers off of her before another grabbed Azriel. “I mean I knew you didn’t like her, after all she’s filth but still I thought you were caring and didn’t like people suffering.” He mocked.
